I remember this game and this was the game when I realized 100% that we got a good one. I remember so vividly his reaction to each air ball, to be so young and in that environment, to fail miserably with each 3ptr and react in his manner, that mamba mentality…I knew then he could be great and what a fucken legend he became. What I love about this story that’s not seen, is when he missed that last shot and the Jazz won, Shaq walked over to him and put his arm around his shoulders. There was no criticism, no shame he knew KB was a youngster who just made a mistake - albeit a big one. When I see people on the internet criticizing an athlete for a bad play or mistake I know they have no idea about teamwork or forgiveness. A super star like Shaq could have shown his disappointment to the world and further crushed KB but he showed his support.

Kobe would get up hours before his teammates and practice. Then at practice with the team he would show up early and practice after they left. And he would practice his moves before a game in the locker room without a ball. Kobe was a beast.

When one is expressing thereself within the four walls of what they love to do it is beyond amazing to experience the humans ability to commit to loving said craft. For Kobe it was basketball for me it's merely conversing about topics that stimulate my brain alongside selling cars.
