Definitely a camera for those who love the lo-fi look especially the epic flare and grain, but i was surprised just how punchy the colours came out especially the vivid blue skies, kodak gold and a sunny day are a great combination for this camera, the railway photos were really impressive as well.

This makes me want to pull out my old vintage box camera. You never know how the pictures are going to turn out, but you can get some really beautiful nostalgic shots from it. Such a different experience than shooting digital or even with a film SLR where you're looking through the lens so you have a decent idea of how it's doing to look.

Great Ohio photos! And that all-plastic camera really has decent focus even fairly close. Vintage plastic point & shoot cameras really had far inferior lenses -- most of these modern builds are so much better. Thanks Dave!

Im debating on what camera to buy next. So happy i came across this video. It had such a great warmth to it, and the photos. Im thinking about grabbing one of these cameras just in case i decide to attempt using film, being they are only going for $30 on amazon. Debating on replacing my easy share z740 as well since its showing more and more signs of wear.

This was a very helpful video Dave. I've been looking at buying this camera as an easy way into film photography, and I think this video and images has sold me. Looking for something totally different from what I shoot currently to photograph a lot of these old buildings we have around here. I checked out the M35 video as well, but I think I like the look of the images from this camera much better. Thanks again Dave, hope you are doing well!

Thanks Paul - I really enjoyed shooting this camera and it is definitely an easy way to get into film photography. The biggest thing to keep in mind is knowing that you will get more in your final image than what appears in your viewfinder. Also, 400 speed film is good for this camera in overcast conditions, 200 if it’s sunnier, 100 ISO for bright sun. Other than that, just point and shoot.

Nice set of images Dave. I'm interested to know how you think it compares with the likes of the M35 and the AGFAphoto reusable 35mm etc.
@theoldcameraguy

The specs and results are all about the same. I love the design of this one. Its build quality is sturdier than the M35 and M38 - it’s about the same build quality as the Agfa, but I dig the popup flash on the i60.

Not a bad camera, Dave! It really looks like the original Instamatic 100 with the pop-up flash. Did you try the flash on your test camera, like for fill-in purposes? It’s good to see one of these cameras use 200 film. Nice video! Thanks for the review!

@theoldcameraguy

I much prefer this one because it’s full frame with better resolution. H35N is half frame, but it does have capability for long exposures and double exposures

Hello, thank you very much for your videos, they are very good. I have a question, which do you recommend, the Kodak Ektar H35n or the i60?
@theoldcameraguy
3 ай бұрын
I prefer the i60, which is traditional full frame 35mm. The H35N is half frame, so it squeezes 2 images in the same space as a regular 35mm frame, so the resolution is lower. Some people like half frame because you get more pictures on a roll of film.

What are the difference between all these identical cameras - M35, M38, this one, and others?

Honestly, the difference is styling/design. Since the specs are about the same on all these cameras, your images will be the same quality as well.

It's not worth buying these camera models these days. It's much better to buy the ones that were produced in the 1990s and early 2000s. They are much superior and cheaper.

I disagree, although superior, the market price for good quality film cameras have been heavily inflated since 2020 - making them far more unattainable for the average buyer. It sucks
