i think comparing the SW show and monies to winning a lottery really puts it into perspective. Kody doesn't have a career - neither does Robyn. They have piggybacked off the show and the other wives for years. Neither of them has very good prospects for being able to actually make a living with lack of education, training or experience. Not to mention lack of motivation that's pretty significant in both of them.

So very true. Say what you will about how terrible the MLM‘s are. Which they are. The other wives have found other streams of income. They have also for years built different social media platforms in which they can make money. Cody and Robin really haven’t been at all. They have no other businesses. They don’t have a social media following. I imagine from what I’ve seen. Kody and Robin have just been taking all of the money from the TV show and have probably been siphoning money away from the other wives. well now they’re only getting 2/5 of the TV money and have lost all access to the other wives income.

I’m curious to see if they’re actually buying that other house it’s rumored they’re about to close on. You give great advice. When I lost my job in 2015 I had to sell family home to downsize to condo I could pay cash for using equity from home. Had to sell luxury car to buy used cheap sedan. Sold jewelry and furniture (pennies on the dollar). 9 years later, laid off again at 68. But zero debt, no mortgage or car payment allowed me to retire. Life changes quickly but living with zero debt eliminates so much stress. I buy very little and pay cash. The truth is most of us just don't need all that stuff to be happy. While us on the outside see Kody winning the lottery I really don't believe HE sees himself that way. His inflated perception of self importance makes him believe that he really IS a celebrity and it will never go away because he's amazing and people will flock to see him. In order to make better decisions he is going to have to face reality and admit things I don't think he will ever admit to himself. He is so long and far in his delusions that he may just lose his mind if he sees the world any other way.
@laneneal3510

He’s already done that. He sees glimpses of what he’s done but then justifies it by most of the lies he tells himself. It’s way too painful to look directly at it. The only time you’ll see accountability or a “I’m. Sorry” is if it benefits himself. It is all an act, a performance. This is his highest form of love he can come up to. Narcs just can’t take a failure with out taking someone with him, throw under a bus or blaming. He will always be the victim. He did what he did bc of…..He will always have a justification. But inside his brain there are multiple conversations which makes him feel like he’s loosing his mind. And rightfully so. But instead of righting the wrong he rages like a child. And pushes people further away. These people need therapy. A third party. They want to count on their people to make them whole. But they can’t. He’ll sabotage it every time. And rage more cuz you’re not doing it right. Not doing enough. If you changed for them then they’d be better. CATCH 22

Way back when I watched the Kardashians. Kim K said in one episode she needed to slow down her spending because her financial planner said she was spending too much for the retirement goals she’d set for herself. She then said she would be getting more sponsors for clothing to reduce spending. While that may have been fluff for the show, it didn’t make it any less true IRL. Considering the Kardashians made in one episode what the Browns made in a season, I think the Browns need to wake up before they’re out of cash and opportunities.

Same with my gr aunt & uncle, not only were they early investors in IBM, etc, he worked in a consistent construction government job. You couldn’t tell by their 60 year old house and clothing or cars that they had anything at all. They’d never spend money, my uncle always conveniently left his wallet at home when he’d invite my parents out to dinner and we were toddlers, my parents were poor. That ended pretty quick. When I worked in high end retail, the first thing they taught us was to never judge a customer by their clothing. A lot of older people in CO (60s - 70s) looked like bums who carried rolls of cash from their own gold mines and winter job of running a trolley in the 30s & 40s. Eventually the women get tired of him and leave, and now the mediocre man is at sink or swim, and I think, for most of them, they have no experience of capacity to swim so they all sink, unless they can find more woman to take him on as a burden. Yeah, you're right that they only have two minor children in the home, but the problem is that they aren't making the older three get jobs and move out. The reason that Dayton lives in the RV is because he sided with Garrison and Gabriel about the COVID rules, so he got kicked out to the RV. Also, they're probably charging him rent to live there. I wonder if the close location of Coyote Pass is a detriment to the sales price of that house. Apparently, it’s zoned commercial, but not for a permanent living situation, such as an apartment building. People may be wary, since they don’t know who their neighbors will be. (If Kody liked to move, on a regular basis, why would he have wanted one huge house, or other permanent structures on Coyote Pass??- He must have thought the wives, would provide enough, so that he could retain all that Flagstaff property AND move on to other locales.)

Thanks for all of your common sense commentaries. I’m not watching future SW shows, but will continue seeing my favorite content creators for recaps. As a viewer who stopped watching them for years (Enough of us were bored and ratings really do matter), like a junkie, however, I picked up during the Covid shows. I was last triggered by the spousal abuse, and then after Garrison I promised in his memory, I was finished w the platform they’d given to his dad. I couldn’t agree with you more, Kody spending like a lottery winner with no legit financial advisors in sight. At least Janelle tried - we see Robyn doing the opposite to take them all down not unlike her 1st husband. 2/3 of the wives intuitively knew from the beginning and were often reminded later she was bad juju just out for herself. Too bad no one listened, but every show needs antiheroes like K&R. James, you’d be the best Tell All Cohost this season or minimum, a writer and consultant who consistently makes good calls on human character and behavior. I hope there are TLC scouts for people like you. Lordt knows they’ve got enough fools who’ll do anything for a buck & instant fame. I’ll keep following for sanity and laughs.

I do know in Florida and a lot of places, we are use to people from all over the world and you would fit in just fine. Everyone is different. I was born and lived in Miami for 60 years and hardly ever ran into a native Miamian. I had friends from everywhere, Trinidad, Bahamas, Jamaica, Brazil, Argentina, you name it. I have always thought it interesting to get to know about other cultures and traditions.

Hey James, I just watched a video from Sarah, and she says that someone who toured the house contacted her, and said that they were told that these two are getting an even bigger house. Wow! These two spend money like it's never going away. WTF do they need a bigger house?
@MarkMay-cr6bv
12 күн бұрын
That may well be true, but it's yet to be confirmed. Real estate agents will often tell prospective buyers that kind of thing because they want to assure them the property is great, nothing wrong with it, it's just the owners are in a position to move to "an even bigger, better house." It's a selling tactic.

I am spoiled. I have been spoiled since the second I took my first breath …. Now I have a husband who spoils me and I spoil myself …. My weakness outside of my family are bags!!! My mother is a bag lover my nonna was a bag lover I’ve gotten many of vintage bags from them over the years …. The bags I buy…. All appreciate in value. I have a few bags from my nonna that are in mint condition and those things are worth at least 5x what she bought them for. When I found what I loved I made sure I found a loving for the bags that if shit god forbid ever hits the fan and I need to sell them that I can get money from them…. Not that I’m some genius but I just looked at it like if im going to be spending this type of money…. Mine and my husbands hard earned money … on things I DONT need let me at least be smart about it. And these are things I can give my daughters when they’re older … my girls are obsessed with bags and shoes now…. I keep my cheaper shoes at the bottom on the shelves in my closet cause they’ll come into the closet with me and play dress up and they’re always going for the heels- and they may only be 3 but my one daughter surely walks better in heels than some adults I know 😂😂 and right now the bags they love are the cute Judith leiber bags … the bags that are just cute collectible bags and maybe every once in a blue moon one of them will work perfectly for a certain event or just go perfectly with an outfit … if you don’t know Judith leiber look em up! Anyway, you have the money to spend, FINE!! Spoil yourself ….. but at least make sure it’s something you can actually make money from in the future if need be. And YES!! If you don’t know who to sell things to or where to go to sell them … it’s worthless. You can MAYBE throw it on eBay for a fraction of the actual price….. now I love good vintage jewelry and bags even some shoes and sneakers! But there’s not one damn thing I’d want that the browns have. Their style is tacky

Once this show is over which it won’t last the rest of their life’s. Kody & Robyn will be screwed. They are now used to max amount of money coming in & once it’s gone he or she will never bring in that same amount or even close enough & they will have to sell & down size a lot of their life. You know darn well she will NEVER work, so she will find another man who can financially support her to not have to work. It’s just a matter of time. I can see it happening in the next 5yrs. This show won’t last longer than that.

Banks don’t work the way you describe. They wouldn’t give you loans that you can’t afford. It’s their liability. It’s their job to be sure you can pay it now and in the future…

I see this working out long term really terribly- I think Robyn is setting up a leaving Kody storyline and actually that makes a lot of sense if she's trying to get his money to be liquid so she can take it and I think with no money and no prospects he's going to try to go back to Meri and like I think he probably could do that- hopefully I'm wrong but that's like biggest concern

I also agree that the stuff you have can’t define who you are….. id give up every single thing I have …. Everything that I’ve been given … the privilege I have …. Everything I’ve worked my ass off to have …. For my family. Yes I am very comfortable in my home and having nicer things I am also very happy not having to stress about money and how we’re going to pay things but I’d sooner give that all up and live in a car in the trashiest part of Long Island for my family. You’re nothing without your family and it’s always been so sad that Kody have continuously picked everything over his family ….. Robin may be his wife but she’s the same thing as a car … the min the money is gone the cars getting repoed and robins going to be gone and Kody will be left with nothing but may be one or two pieces of hair …. Unless Robin wants all 8 strands of hair he’s got left. It’s not going to be a good day for dear ole Kody brown when he’s left with nothing and realizes the people he should have been ride or die for are the people he made run the f away from him.

I agree …. If you CANT afford nice things or expensive things then don’t buy it. Now if you can and it’s not effecting your life or family then I think there’s nothing wrong with spending it …. Especially if you’re smart and after the bills are paid the kids are taken care of you put a certain percent away into your different savings accounts then whatever is left is fun money!! But in a Kody and Robin situation they are running on fumes. I mean we seen the inside of that house…. Which again that house is NOTHING special. Not even from the outside. The only thing MAYBE would be a view? If there is one but aside from that they are the “celebs” that are maxing everything out having creditors breathing down their necks … but I find it hysterical they think their home is worth that much bc they’re “celebrities” ….. let’s be honest 97% of people in this country haven’t the slightest idea who they are …. More people know influencers than these idiots

They obviously live in a dream land & think this show will last forever or why would they go from one home you can afford after wife’s left & potentially get a “big of a home” (if it’s true?) which could be more money to run. They don’t live in reality they are just focused on their “reality fame”. I never want to see someone fail at life but these two deserve karma that is coming their way!

As much as I dislike Kody, at the end of the day, we don’t really know their personal finances and how they invest their money (stocks etc.). I’m sure they have financial advisors. They’re certainly not poor. They all make a lot of money per episode ($20,000 to $40,000) reports say. Their net worth: Kody Brown ($800,000) Robyn Brown ($600,000) Christine Brown ($400,000) Janelle Brown ($400,000) Meri Brown ($400,000) If we take 209 episodes of the show (that’s how many there are to date), and Kody makes $40k per episode, he’s cashed in $8,360,000 for just himself alone. That’s plenty to live off of without having to work. Even if we low ball what he made, he’s still still ahead with over $5,000,000.

@@ALG1191 Let’s say he doesn’t; and the mean streak in me hopes he doesn’t, but if you combine Robyn’s share of money with his over the years, that easily puts them at least $13,000,000 combined income. Those two are laughing all the way to the bank, plus whatever they stole from the OG3. Makes me sick to be honest.
