This is the best intro of the famous party island. I am old now and don't care for full moon party but I could imagine staying on some remote beach in this island for a chill for one week easily.

Thanks Jeroen. Always good seeing you and Mirela, and the Mirela Cam! Koh Phangan is my partner's favorite island in Thailand. She says that it's very spiritual, and has a great yoga community. Apparently Koh Phangan is quite similar to Ibiza, where everybody knows that it's the 'party' island, but equally has a side that's very spiritual, natural and relaxing.

Major thumps up. That took a lot of work but somehow you managed to stay reasonable fresh even at the end. I was in Koh Phangan 30 years ago, so of course it's completely different now. Not having an airport has its advantages and disadvantages. Just like the full moon parties. I won't be too judgmental but personally I think Koh Phangan would be a better place without them.

Agreed in that other than TFP this Koh doesn't get the attention it's deserving of. Very well done Jeroen 👍

Joeren for me thong pan noicbeach is one of best beaches i have spent time in Thailand. I used to stay in one of the cheaper hotels there - Phuwadee resort and still enjoy the food of the 4 and 5 star hotels on that beach especially at night

I often have the Haadrin web cam on at work as the view is lovely, always wondered what more there was & now I know. Will have to visit one day. Sad to say that some of the beaches reminded me of Patong in the early 80's I suppose its only a matter of time but it is a little harder to get to than Phuket so who knows?
@globaltravelmate
Жыл бұрын
I don't think Koh Phangan will get the development that Patong got. I think they will keep the Island how it is. I have not seen any construction.

Koh Phangan is a beautiful island. I haven't been there since 1999 so I know there are a lot of changes. Next time I go there I will have to explore more of the western beaches. You should have taken your bicycle and cycled up that steep hill out of Had Rin heading west! I've done it but it's not easy.

@globaltravelmate

I think the relaxed lifestyle. The Island is big enough to explore, but at the individual beaches give a small Island vibe. It is not as busy as Koh Samui or Phuket.

I am not vegan myself, but the Thai and Indian kitchen have many vegan and vegetarian options. On the North West part of the Island there is a big yoga comunity. I am pretty sure there will be vegan restaurants as well.
