This is a clip which highlights the CGI preservation and restoration of the clay Nara-era Shitenno at the Todai-ji in Nara, Japan. The main figure shown here is Komokuten. This group was once dedicated to protect central figures inside a hall or temple that is no longer extant. Through digital scanning, reconstruction via written records and virtually dialing back time, the architecture and sculptural elements can be married and again seen as it either was once envisioned or used to be.
