Simply love this duet. The fusion makes it so energetic. Subash Chandran's Texas performance is also amazing. The true master of Konnakol

The geometry of rap from Raga Bop Trio. isn't it? I love this tune, the album, the way you use the Konnakol.. and also your drumming Mr. Smith! Is there a score/transcription of the konnakol part?

Like Mr. Peter L, Mr. Stevesmith too has mastered the rhythmic cycles (Indian) and he tries to incorporate in his shows and the best thing is he is one of the best drummers in the world.

What is Konnakol, the style, or the name of the song?

Konnakol is the art of performing percussion syllables vocally in South Indian Carnatic music. In other words, when you hit on the Indian drums with either your fingers, base of your palm, open palm, etc, at different spots on the drum's face, it produces specific sounds - for eg Dhin, Ta, Dhinak dhin, tirikita dha, dhoom, ghina taa ke, etc. So the percussionist mimics those fast drum sounds with his mouth.
