I'm Korean, and even with the Alfredo sauce¹, my stomach still cannot handle it, even though the sause does relieve the spice. ¹ In South Korea, carbonara is refered to a type of creamy pasta with Alfredo sauce, not with the "original" Pecorino, guancale, egg, and black pepper.

I know this comment is late but general tip on eating spicy food next time is to drink Milk rather than water. Water will spread the spiciness in your mouth and amp up the burning sensation. Same goes for Soda and Beer since they're both mostly water. If you're lactose intolerance, you can try lemon or lime juice. I think ice cream helps too.

I've tried all the flavors I can find here in Canada. The hottest one is the red pack (2x spicy). it was really tasty and not too hot for me, but my Korean friend can't even eat half a package. My favorite one is either the purple pack or the green pack. So much flavor! they're a little hotter than the pink pack you tried. Tip for if you eat more spicy food: drink hot tea instead of water. Most people drink milk, but I find hot tea works best for spicy food relief.

Personally can relate - part one: You know those peppers that get served as garnish in hot Chinese restaurant dishes? I accidentally bit into one a couple times. First time was a long time ago, and had to suffer through it. Second time was in my home town, and when the lady running the restaurant noticed me going through a lot of water, (I had even appropriated the glass belong to my sister's boyfriend) she offered me a small cup of hot tea. It was near boiling hot, and as soon as it hit the tip of my tongue, the pain went away. Must have been shock overload for my taste buds.

*_A S A G I - I - I - I ! ! ! F A I T O - O - O - O ! ! !_* When food is too spicy, I've found that the best things to counteract the heat are things that are acidic like coffee, milk, sugar, orange juice and salt. Also beer. Water does _nothing_ to lessen the heat. In the Southwestern United States, the consequence of eating spicy foods after the digesting has been accomplished is called "Mexican Heartburn."

Hell yeah - that Samyang stuff is totally dope!!! I buy it here at the local H Mart. My favorite one is the 2x spicy that comes in a soup version (stew) and fried noodle. I even have an extra bottle of the sauce stuff just in case it isn't crazy spicy enough LOL I do love the flavor and the fire in your mouth makes it "an experience" to eat. Dress the soup with some roasted dried seaweed or throw in some fried chicken tenders with the noodles and you've got yourself an awesome meal. BTW: Have you ever dated a foreign guy who can handle spicier Asian food than you?

I'm getting flashbacks to the time I went to a Korean restaurant with my friends. I asked like five times if the thing I wanted to order was hot (don't remember what it was, some kind if rice/ vegetable bowl with beaf I think) because I'm really bad with spicy food. They told me not to worry, "not spicy at all". And yeah, you guessed it, it was soooo spicy for me, I thought I'd die! But at the same tame, it was absolutely delicious. So my relationship with Koren food is a little difficult :D "You're hurting me, but you are really good" kind of describes it well, haha. Edit: I'm never going to try these because I feel to young to die

Personally can relate - part two: So, I have to know. Did it feel like acid was trying to melt a hole through your tongue? A friend of mine was trying to grow his own Cherry Peppers, and he handed me one without explanation as a joke. It looked like a half-ripe cherry tomato. Thinking that's what it was, I popped the thing in my mouth, chewed and swallowed. I instantly knew it wasn't a tomato. Even un-ripened tomatoes have some sort of flavor, usually sour. Seconds later, I could feel the heat growing. There was no water to be had. No fluids to wash it down. So, I had to suffer through the pain, and it felt as I described at its worst - like acid was trying to eat a hole through my tongue. Ten minutes to half an hour later (I can't remember the exact length of time) it finally quit. After that, I had no problem with jalapenos. Not that I prefer them, now, but they don't bother me as bad. Side note: I must have put on a brave, stoic enough face, with nary a comment that a couple other folks tried. They didn't fare as well.
