what I love about Korean street food, is that a lot of is actually rooted in the poverty of both the Japanese accupation and the difficult time of the reconstruction after the Korean war. it came from resourcefulness in trying to make the best of very basic ingrediates. yet, even now after Korea has advanced so much, and has become so much wealthier- the street food is king, it presists and endures because it continues to fit the fast lifestyle of Korea today, and it's also a great reminder to the younger people of Korea how little their parents and grandparents had.

I am korean. Some koreans are really defensive about being mistaken for chinese or japanese. But i think we koreans should understand that for someone who is not north-east-asian, it can be difficult to distinguish the difference of korean.japanese.chinese culture. Just like it is difficult to distinguish arabian music and indian music. Anyway I really enjoyed this video and didn't care about music.

Professional? An American-stereotyped perceived Chinese music as background music for Korean street food? He once used a Japanese enka as a BGM while presenting Taiwan's Chang Kai Sek Memorial Hall. When I asked him why, he said because he liked it (the music). Taiwanese don't mind because they take Japanese invasion and occupation as an honour. However, see what will happen if he plays Japanese music when he introduces the street food of Nanking, China.
@ktkska8886
6 жыл бұрын
Oh, yes. I suggest you play 'Shina No Yoru" when you show China's street food or interesting tourist spots. kzitem.info/news/bejne/tGiptoSYsYCbZmk。 See how the Chinese viewers all over the world except the Taiwanese, the Chinese media and the Chinese immigration will react. Tell them because you like the music.

I know many will defend and argue but wait till he steps on a minefield. I call this frivolous attitude of an inexperienced young man who chooses to be insensitive and callous to other's culture. I went there when I was five years old after being reunited with my family. I remember I ate so much food that I felt like a bauble by the end of the day and had a stomachache for a while. I don't regret a single thing

We need more Korean food stalls in the USA too :) I think they would be very popular near some business parks for people to go for lunch :)
