You can never have too much storage! It's a really unusual house, the concrete is so industrial and then suddenly you have all the blue and then loads of different rooms. The extra kitchen thing will probably come in handy for the bigger projects like kimchi making many families do and you'd still have your regular kitchen to make dinner.
@XSemperIdem5

I get brand new middle school building vibes from that odd blue. It's such an odd contrast with the stairs and handrail. Actually, that's exactly the shade of blue one of my schools had when I was a kid.
@Iflie

@@XSemperIdem5 I think sometimes architects really get into "different". I used to stay in a town that was for the most part very newly created and you'd have all kinds of mad house designs, one street would have bright blue tiles somewhere in the wall. I called it a duplo town as many of the designs were with kid colours. Not great against the dutch grey skies. But at least it had some personality which is often lacking in buildings too. And yes, the clay room and the stairs seemed like an old style versus all the modern window treatments.

I just bought my first home. Here in Chicago as that's where dad has to live because of his job, and I work right next to the city, and live across from my son's school, which is great. Butttt... I have like, no storage in this house. I don't even have a kitchen table. I can't fit one. So watching this house tour is like porn for me. lol To be fair, the basement is unfinished, which will yield lots of room when I have the money, and I do have a driveway, a large backyard, as well a big pool for my son to play in. I traded space inside for stuff outside. Give and take. lol

I'm a 911 dispatcher and former medic and I cannot believe hook ladders have never occurred to me. What a great idea. I'd love to share this at work with the public, but since everything in the US is a potential lawsuit, I won't dare. With my luck, I'll suggest it to some people, they'll use it improperly, fall and break their leg, and then claim the police department/fire department (AKA me) told them to. Or worse yet, they'll buy a cheap one, not install it properly, and try to use it instead of escaping and something horrible happens and now we're to blame AND someone lost their life. But I will tell friends about it! lol

It's nice to see homes in different countries because I'm so used to seeing the "open concept" American layout, which I love, but I also love this. Every room has its own thing going.
@hiking1388
Жыл бұрын
Yes I'm from the US where open concept has been the rage for years (and if you watch any HGTV or Magnolia or whatever it is now, which my mother does constantly, they ALWAYS tear down walls for open concept!!). But, I've lived for years abroad (NZ, S Korea, Europe, and now Northern Ireland), so have gotten used to all these different styles and can be a bit surprised when I return to the US to visit. haha I'd say the biggest surprise though is space, homes/rooms are often so much more massive in the US!! We have a lovely, fairly new house we bought last year here in NI, but the bedrooms are SO tiny 😱 I've been cautioning friends and family before they visit: these are BEDrooms.....as in, a room just for a bed!! 😂 Every room is naturally closed off as well, with a door you can close which Americans find a bit unusual, but I quite appreciate it because I can go to the kitchen or whatever, play a podcast/music as loud as I want and not worry about disturbing my husband while he works :)
@Fridate
Жыл бұрын
@@hiking1388 wow you've lived all over! It's interesting that you say the rooms are "BEDrooms" because here in the US, I do find that a lot of us use our bedrooms as another living space whereas other countries use it solely for sleeping.
@hiking1388
Жыл бұрын
@@Fridate oh gosh it sounds crazy to think of me living in many places, because to be honest most places start to feel pretty similar pretty quickly!! You still gotta shower / work / cook / clean / grocery shop, and all that will take up most of your time.....life is pretty similar everywhere, at the end of the day! :) (but, you do get to see - and eat!! - cool little different things unique to each place :P) But yes you're right, bedrooms in the US will have benches and comfy chairs like they're a hangout space. Lord I've even had a loveseat (and comfy chair)!! Which I think makes sense for teens 100% (unless they can have their own basement/hangout room). But for adults, I think Megan and her husband are right, it's best for sleep hygiene to make bedrooms about sleeping! I've heard Brits say they find the houses in America to be too big, you hafta to look for people and shout for them. To me, big open indoor space just feels 'comfortable' 😅 And while I'm content here, I definitely have always assumed I'd end up back in the US (even if not my home state) because it'll always be 'home' :) Hope you're enjoying your own home in the US! And that your bedroom is comfy and relaxing for many nights of restful repose 😊

I’ve been following since you first started your KZitem! Congrats on your home! I know I’m used to the American way but I wish I lived in Korea to help you organize and make the most use of your beautiful space! Personally I would add a storage/China cabinet on the wall opposite of your kitchen/next to clay room. I would also add a tall closed cabinet next to your kimchi fridge. I would add closed cabinets with small countertop to your laundry room. I would add a coffee table as a seated Korean style dining space with the pillows stored in a basket when not in use in the living room and totally move all the cat stuff out of there. I would move your exercise equipment to your outside porch and turn your sun room into just an eating area with cabinets and countertop space along the wall where your games are. I would turn the first floor room into a guest room and make the room in the garage your office. I would also put all the cat stuff in that office in the garage. I would turn the second floor into the master suite floor with your closet room being where your baby room is and your master bedroom where your closet is. I would turn the 3rd floor into the babies suite- when they’re older they can have separate bedrooms up there but for now one room being their room and the other being their playroom. In an ideal world I would convert the storage room on the 3rd floor to another bathroom for the kids. Just my immediate thoughts on organization and use of space!
So excited for this video!! 💖 so happy for you and your beautiful family 💖

omg i’ve been watching you since middle school, i’m in college now, it’s so crazy seeing you go from doing blind dates to married with babiesss i love you so muchhh!!💪🏽💕
I love the realness because I hate watching influencers or KZitemrs or whatever you want to call them and they put on a facade or they have these multimillion-dollar homes and then you find out there struggling and or going into debt and they have children also but I love how Megan and Mister Moon keep it real and you know not everyone always has it together even the most energetic person still you know has struggle sometimes especially when you have little ones your cleaning and cleaning and cleaning or if you have a husband who doesn't pick up a picture like I just swept that you couldn't take off your shoes or you couldn't pick up you know whatever you made a mess in the kitchen and it is hard and sometimes use for like yelling you know what I mean so sometimes you're just like screw it I'm leaving it because if I keep doing it I'm about to scream at someone so I love how they keep it real

The house looks great and the yard looks amazing! I used to take grass for granted but in Korea having a garden space is a huge luxury. Great job!

We didn’t film them getting street food or anything because they just came to hang with the babies at the house. But next time they come we will do more touristy stuff.

It is refreshing to see a house tour and the house looks like a home. Yeah, it's messy but that's real life. Now, if it was dirty that's a whole other thing, but it didn't look it. So great house tour!
