great video and very clear explanation. you are 100% correct, best $20 I spent on an app. everything sounds brilliant. I have an older 6th gen ipad, and ran 15+ tracks on gadget w/o any issues. I also have some of the heavier korg soft synths like monopoly, odyssey etc which cost $15 when all korg's app's are on sale. I never used gadget with my force as think working with gadget's sequencer on the 10+ inch ipad screen is easier for me (I think the sequencer in gadget is less powerful but more hands on) and I also have a korg nanokey studio as a controller for it. but for someone who has a force, owns an decent ipad and want to add another capable synth to use via external midi this is a no brainer.

On the Mpc and I’m assuming same goes for the force you can go into program edit whilst on a midi track and configure and name the controls accordingly for that gadget you can then name and save the midi track for later or duplicate use.

@MaxipokMusic

If you have the iRig connected to Force with a midi cable it won’t show up, it’s just the ‘Force’ output in the midi port section. That’s the Force’s 5 pin output, as long as sync / track is enabled there it should work.

I'm trying to get that to work now and can't see why it wouldn't work since they both accept midi over USB. Doesn’t the force have USB Audio and USB Midi? Wouldn’t it work to connect the iPad USB to USB on the Force and have everything cross that one cable? Also, What’s your opinion on using a Roland-555 in the same configuration (USB audio from the Force into the 555)? Seems like it’d be a great combo for live work.
@MaxipokMusic
2 жыл бұрын
The Force can accept a usb audio interface with up to 32 inputs, but it doesn’t have audio over usb, so you can’t just plug the iPad in unfortunately - it’s a shame as that would be amazing, a really nice clean setup. I’m sorry I don’t know the Roland 555, so can’t comment on that. I have used the Roland MC101 with MPC, and that worked brilliantly well.

I’m pretty sure the midi function for the Force and MPCs is the same, you’d just be creating midi programs rather than midi tracks. I had the MPC Live mk1 a few years ago and I did a similar thing using the Roland MC101 as a module and it worked perfectly. The only thing that stops me saying it’ll definitely work is I haven’t used an MPC in a few years and I don’t know what’s happened with firmware updates etc! 🙂
