I was doing stuff around the house w/ my ‘favorites’ playlist playing in the background and when this started playing it set a fantastic mood. I let it play for minutes having no idea what it is but was too intrigued not to come and see. Just brilliant, thanks!

lush and epic..... and yes, very 'cinematic' I'm also a big fan of Omnisphere (you probably heard the sad news: Spectrasonics recently lost one of their team to CV-19 - Stephan B., who was one of the people who sampled the vintage synths for their collection.....) Sorry to dole out bummer news. Great upload!

Not to take away from the Volca work here(which is excellent!), but I am a big fan of lush, wide backgroud-scapes, and I love what's happening here. Valhalla Shimmer is an incredible tool, but I love the subtlety here. Just a fun, headphony track here! Thanks for giving us a break from the plague.

Is the shimmer what's providing the sort of string section type background? If so it's absolutely lovely. Reminds me a little of the Original Doom score for PS1, the really atmospheric one and not the upbeat pc version, though I did like that as well.

Hi! I'm gonna check out that soundtrack! There's a bunch of things going on in the background (more info in the video description) but yes the Valhalla Shimmer reverb effect does a lot of the heavy lifting. It instantly creates a soundscape I can play around in.

Hmm I don't remember the names of the patches. It's a mix of presets I've found and exported from Dexed (asb2m10.github.io/dexed/). If you want to sysex file it is available for my Patreons over here: www.patreon.com/posts/36474379

No, it's only like 20% of the track. The rest is made up of three different softsynths. Omnisphere (strings) Zebra 2 (arp) and Legend (drone/bass). Just playing around in this video.

To me the Volca FM has always sounded cheap(ish). I am interested to know what your reasons are to use it alongside "professionally"-sounding synths like these. I mean, it's pretty limited. It's not easier to make patches on. It's not analog so that argument is out as well. I do not wish to denigrate your work, I actually really appreciate it. You're one of the few who get something decent out of the Volcas, AND you upload these videos regularly. I'm more looking forward to you telling me why I am wrong.
@RemixSample

What I like about FM synthesis is the wide range of sounds it can produce. Super cheesy to good bread and butter sounds to really weird and out there patches. I kinda like that I have no idea what's going on when I turn all those knobs. I like the random factor. It's just fun for me. And it looks great in videos haha :D
