Nope, coz you're a Muslim and you never have interest to discover about halal itself. Coz you interested only to know about what is kosher. Well, you're Muslim so you know already what halal is and you don't have to know about it more, just follow the rules and done. Nahh, Halal's more than that, more than Kosher. They (Jewish) buy the foods, well perhaps they used Haram way to get money while Muslim strict their people till that matter. How you get the money to get your food, will it be halal if you get the food from stealing, gambling, or anything that's considered Haram. They don't do that, they just strict their people when it comes to what is Kosher foods, how to slaughter them while Halal has the same, how to proceed them just like Halal does, and more. Ahh, they are best in copying Islamic rules.

Keep in mind it depends on the type of judaism the person may practice as to what they consider kosher, which further complicates things even more. Some jews may enjoy turkey, while others may say it shouldn't be kosher at all- it just depends.

@@tinyflyingdragons9432 I didn’t know ostrich was considered poultry. I assumed it was simply a bird of prey. But yeah, that’s what I meant by kosher (ritually slaughtered and separated from dairy). So a common question about the verse about not mixing meat and dairy is “they were only mentioning not mixing a kid and a grown lamb, why can’t you do something like cheeseburger” (Also in English it’s harder to spot but by kid they mean what you call a baby lamb) Well 1: its how rabbis have interpreted it 2: it’s also a bit spiritual as it’s like bringing a food coming from the beginning of life and bringing a food from the end of a life

All this stuff has become a lot more fascinating to me as studies about "epigenetics" have come out. For decades we have understood people have genetic dispositions towards food and possible hormonal or enzyme reactions or even allergic Now it has been discovered more thoroughly that continued consumption of certain things in a population can cause genetic expression to modulate over generations. Furthermore, you must consider the myriad slew of microbes that inhabit particular food and their own impact on the consumer. More intriguing, it has been discovered that this "epigenetic" expression has a possibility of being passed to offspring...i.e. an organism's adaption isn't based off of only "random mutation" but actually even through "conscious" and calculated behavior.

I’m a Christian and I try to follow these food laws. I see it a little differently to the Jews though. I believe Jesus Christ was the son of God and fulfilled the old mosaic law. So I am not under law to follow these rules. I believe they were meant for the Israelites. But I cherish this knowledge because it is from our Creator. Our creator who knows what’s good for our bodies and what’s not. I don’t need science to validate what is healthy for me and what is not. If God says it is clean or unclean that that is what I follow. God bless my Christian brothers and brothers from other religions and walks of life.

fun fact! a bunch a rabbis in the middle ages got together to decide an important question; if a jew is offered unicorn meat, can he eat it? the answer they decided on is yes. in the middle ages unicorns where believed to be more like deer than horses, so they had split hooves and chewed their cud, rendering them kosher. idk if decisions were made about any other mythical creatures though.

"Thou shall not cook a kid in its mother's milk" This says about cooking, not " mixing " you can mix things without cooking it. Also its says about milk, it doesn't say about cheese or yogurt. And finally what about cooking goats meat with cow milk???

You can't eat meat with milk, no matter if it's the same animal or his mother, also you can't mix them, because then you will eat the milk product as well.

Also, yogurt and cheese are dairy because they have milk inside them, that's why we can't mix the both.

Everyone knows about the restrictions, but are they also rules about what a kosher meal should contain? I read somewhere that in an ideal meal there is always fish and meat included, for example. Is there something you should eat every day or with every meal?

I have read Torah, according to Torah , eating or preparing a child in his mother's milk is forbidden, but it is not written that that you can't eat them together, those people use make food from animals in thier barn, and farmers use to have dairy products from same barn, that is why it was forbidden but we take meat from another market and milk from another, there is 0.02% chance of it, so eating dairy products with meat is not un kosher, it's just highly misconcepltualized

Our rabbinic tradition understood this to include all meat and all milk

As a jew it was kinda weird growing up learning about why we don't mix meat and dairy like others while in the same time schnitzel is a very popular lunch to eat while being chicken in egg (and breadcrumbs😉). It took a while for me to understand that I'll admit😅 but it makes sense

As muslims we believe the reason why Jews have these restrictions is because God told us in the Quran we restricted certain good things for the children of Israel as a punishment for their disobedience. But as for separating dairies with meat, rabbies made it up, God didn't tell the Jews to do this.

I have to check on that "all sea food is ok for Muslims to eat". I was told that fish has to have scales.
