The Koszyki market hall was seriously damaged during Soviet air raids on Warsaw in May 1943. However, the destroyed stalls were quickly rebuilt. During the Warsaw Uprising, the hall was burned and mostly destroyed. After the war, the facility was taken over by the Warsaw Consumer Cooperative "Społem". After 1950, the hall was expanded with single-story pavilions around the courtyard. A bazaar was established there, consisting of several dozen shops. Since 1963, the Koszyki hall operated under the name of Spółdzielczy Dom Handlowy "Koszyki". In 1965, the hall was entered into the register of monuments.
