My Dads Fave since it was out on VHS ! Countless evenings, I home from college, military, life... It was his Goto for " sit down and smoke some pot " movie. 2022 and I still use riffs and juxpositions / lines from Glass' Masterpiece in my music... and in my memory..

If we dig precious things from the land we will invite disaster Near the day of Purification there will be cobwebs spun back and forth in the sky A container of ashes might one day be thrown from the sky which could burn the land and boil the oceans

Thank you for giving this little masterwork the REAL hifi treatment it requires.Anything less would be a travesty.Just wish every uploader had the same respect for the work, for the performers, and for us listeners.Brilliant vid accompaniment, too -- that death's-head in the moon was a nice touch.Cheers

@@JohnSmith-ie9jchey, from 2023. Starting to be present and less on autopilot. I've started to respect myself more. I can see my growth. I am better with my family. I am better with my friends. I am learning to take care of myself. GTA5 used to be my go to game to relax. While playing it I used to feel a certain way. I used to just sit in the car and drive. I used to just walk around in the game and somehow it gave me peace. I haven't played the game for more than a year now. And I yearn for that feeling. Be it night or peak afternoon in the game, I just wanted to get lost in there doing the most random stuff. I want to have that feeling in reality. I associate this song, as a song that signifies life. It's sad but filled with hope. It's perfect in a sense. I don't want to listen to it because it makes me sad and uncornlmfortable, but I force myself to listen to it, because I think I should. Its the same feeling I feel in life too sometimes. It's important to go on. I am afraid of death. I hope science does something in the next 50 years to make lifespan longer. I am afraid to lose my identity. I love myself. But someday I will have to accept death. I hope I mature in the area of life. I want to live. I no longer want to operate on fear. I want to find someone to call them my home. I want to have people around that care for each other. I want to have brothers bonded together like an army. I want to give my parents and sister a great life. I want to be able to take care of my family. I am not able to take action for the things I should be doing. I self sabotage in a sense. I want to change that. I want myself to live. Not having any regrets. Have experiences. Meet new people. Go to new places. Become rich and famous. And live every second of it. I don't know how I am gonna do it. But I most certainly will. There's no other option. So here's to being alive. I am 21, a lot of life left ahead of me. I hope you reading this can feel how I feel about life. Become better. Forgive anyone who you don't get along with. Have people around you that love you. Find someone to spend your life with. Become capable enough to provide for the people you love. Have fun. Love others. Love yourself. And remember, smile. More life!
The lyrics are the Hopi prophecies listed. Haunting and though they are vague, somewhat accurate.

Hi! Off the top of my head, I could recommend you two more pieces by Philip Glass which you may like; they're both part of the soundtrack of the famous film "The Hours": -"The poet acts", in a piano solo version, which I find even more touching and powerful than the original version: kzitem.info/news/bejne/z6yamGaMhqJepKg If you still want to listen to the original version, which is certainly not bad at all, here's the link, as well: kzitem.info/news/bejne/x5mXmKOOhZdqmmk -And "Escape", like the previous one, and like this Koyaanisqatsi piece, relatively simple in its structure, but very effective and powerful: kzitem.info/news/bejne/xJh522iKoF-Zhmk Enjoy!
