ok so the people saying that WE south asian fans shouldnt get offended by the curry song . first of all : shutup if you arent south asian , second of all the song is in korean so there is no excuse for idols to sing and not understand how disrespectful it is . secondly , dont come up with " they didnt know " or " they dont have to know all cultures " bullshit because ok lets say thats fine .... but when you call yourself a " global " group and have international fans , you do owe them a little respect . as for , stray kids they apologized for their mistake and i am unsure of weki meki . making mistakes is human and we all can agree to that but do not come and deny others feelings just because YOU think otherwise . bye , have a good day :)

Do you understand how girly they look?" I didnt even know wat he was talking about till i looked it up and understood the meaning of it. As an Indian-American, I sometimes feel embarrassed about my culture, especially since when I was younger, people would make fun of me eating certain types of Indian food to the point that I can't even eat some of them now. I've also been through sooo many subtly racist and stereotypical words and phrases that I wasn't shocked that there's a whole song about Curry. Sad and annoyed? Yes. Surprised? No. I'm used to it because one of my ults is EXO, and Suho, Minho, and some other idols went to India, and before they even went to India, I was annoyed and embarrassed. One of the Idols was insistent on bringing a spoon because he had heard that Indians ate with their hands, and it seemed like the broadcast system was trying to only show them the not significant parts of India. I see Korea looking down on India a lot in Kpop. It's so sad, especially since people are so quick to point out cultural appropriation for other cultures. Still, when Indian culture Is appropriated, it's a hit or miss if it's even going to be noticed, and the company never apologizes. It never lets it Idols apologize, either. When idols apologize for being ignorant and stuff, you get that sense of security that your idol has learned from the mistakes. Still, when you just silently go and change it, it shows me that you don't care about what you did and would do it again, and the only reason you're changing it is to get fans off your back.

Can i ask you a question? I really don't want to sound rude, but i'm genuinely curious. Do Indians eat with their hands for a deep cultural reason i don't know about or you just find it more comfortable?
@namz777
3 жыл бұрын
@@choosinganameisfuckinghard7604 yes we do eat with our hands, it's our culture. I'll tell you the reasons 1. our ancients believed that body and nature are connected, that each finger is an extension of one of the five elements fire, air, water, earth, and space. When you are eating with all fingers joined, not only are you feeding your body but also your mind and spirit 2. it’s a mark of respect to physically touch your food when eating. 3. When you use your fingers to pick up food, millions of nerve endings in your fingers relay the message that you're about to eat. This preps the stomach for digestion by releasing digestive juices and enzymes. it improves digestion. Hope you understand. There is a deep meaning in every Indian tradition, even Indians are ignorant about these, it's okay you are not being rude it's good to know about other cultures.

Another example of the firework thing is Sunny from SNSD. She lived through the Gulf War and was surrounded with the sound of gunshots and bombs, and understandably has ptsd from it. However, you can see that there are fancams where they still set off little explosions or fireworks, and you can see the absolute terror on her face. This absolutely disgusts me, and the fact that she managed to keep performing shows just how incredibly strong of a woman she is. I respect her all the more for that, but I am beyond disappointed that she had to deal with it in the first place. I sure hope someone was fired, because that kind of emotional distress is no joke.

As a Korean(I’m from America though), I’m really disappointed in Korea. Like Korea is super racist. The Curry song was too much. That’s literally mocking them. Not just that but other things too. I love Wendy from Red Velvet but I think that impression of black people was really stupid. But the ones who asked her to do it are even more stupid. Not surprised though. Korea’s extremely racist towards Black people. Idk why. Like what? Just because they look different from us Koreans means that you have to say they’re “dirty” and “dangerous.” Like please. They’re humans just like us. And idk if you noticed but if you’re black and you go to Korea, a lot of Koreans look at you and keep their distance. If you guys have seen the show Hello Counselor, there was an episode of this black guy who went on the show because he was facing racism. They interviewers said that it wasn’t at problem and he could overcome that racism. They’re literally saying that because they’ve never felt racism. A lot of people are racist towards me at school saying things like “Ching Chong” or “Oppar” because I’m Korean, Chinese, and Japanese. Like they’re calling me “oppar” because that’s Korean. Excuse me, I’m a girl. And literally how is that not a problem. People are calling him “dirty” because of the color of his skin! No offense but I would rather stay here in America than be in Korea where they discriminate towards black people. Almost half of my friends are black. And Korea also has a problem with your skin color. If you’re dark, they tell you to get treatments to get your skin to become lighter. I’m pretty dark cause I live in California where it’s always sunny. I went to Korea for vacation one time and my family there told me I should think about getting treatment for my skin. They told me I should get surgery for my face because they want me to look “better.” They also told me to go on a diet cause I was really fat. Imagine your family, who you’ve never met before and you’re meeting them for the first time say that. I was 9 at the time about 65 pounds. Then telling me to get all this stuff because I didn’t look like other Korean girls. They told me I was too tan. What do you expect? I live in LA! It’s always sunny!!! And my family and I haven’t visited them ever since

As a swiss Stay, I'm so sorry for what Stray Kids did... I Know that Indian fans were really angry because of this. I'm very happy that they apologized, I would feel really bad if they didn't. I didn't know that they sang a curry song because nobody talked about it. That's sad... People should talk about it more to educate people. But not hating or sending death threats ! If they make mistakes, we should educate them without hating or minimized what they did
