Although the history of the mill is hidden in the unwritten history of the local region, some indications indicate that the first mill stood here in pre-Hussite times.
This mill was restored in 1558 by the mortgagee of the village of Krašov
Mr. Melichar from Údrč and was in his possession until 1570.
The next owner of the mill was Heinrich Gräfinger von Salleg
1570 - 1582
after him, the owner of the mill was Adam Ratibořský from Chcebuze
1582 - 1597
He sold the mill to Hasištejnský from Lobkowitz
1594 - 1623
from the Lobkowitz estate and also this mill was bought by the ducal family
SACHSEN - LAUENBURG
1623 - 1690
In 1690, the estate and also the mill became the property of another prominent family in Europe at the time.
That year
FRANCISCA SIBYLLA AUGUSTA, Duchess of Sachsen - Lauenberg
(she married the then most beautiful, most famous and most valiant nobleman in Europe, a man called "Türklui" - Turkish Ludvík - his life was full of wars with the Turks, he was victorious in all of them until 1707 when he famously fell.....)
LUDWIG WILHELM Margrave BADEB - BADEN
Knights of the Order of the Golden Fleece
In the possession of the margraves of Baden - Baden, the mill and the manor were in years
1690 - 1783
Fortunately, the total fire that razed the village of Krašov to the ground on August 2, 1774, with its courtyard and castle, fortunately did not affect the mill. The deep valley protected it then.
And perhaps already at this time, the first family that can be documented in writing came to the local mill.
The first registered miller in the matrix is
JOHANN GEORG WILHELM GRÖSCHL - 1785 - 1800
after this family came the miller Ratka, who came from a family of millers from the nearby Ratkauermühle
JOSEPH RATKA - 1802 - 1819
and then his son took over the mill
MARTIN RATKA - 1819 - 1864
then Johann Stowasser from Vahanče near Karlovy Vary came to the mill
JOHANN STOWASSER
after his death, his son Alois took over the business for a short time, but then he had to enlist at the front and died in 1943
ALOIS STOWASSER + 1943 as a member of the Wehrmacht in the battles for Rostov-on-Don, where he is also buried...
After the miller and his family left, the abandoned mill slowly turned into ruins.
The mill wheel or iron fittings could be seen at the mill sometime around 1979/80, and its metal parts still in the summer of 2009
Today this place is quiet and beautiful. In the summer, however, it is overgrown. The nettles here are 2 meters high and there are plenty of mosquitoes.
Spring is ideal for a visit.
