Wow, the bass in this recording is pretty heavy. It's an issue with many of the '98 recordings. Sound quality is fantastic though, thank you for sharing this! Computer World ends very suddenly, maybe they later edited the footage when it aired on TV.

I've seen them live, although much later in 2017. They do seem to prefer heavy bass, it's pretty epic. Just rather hard to record, I imagine. 😂

Yeah, his voice is a bit coarse in the later concerts of 1998, but it sounds great. I like it too.

@@Fuchsfein This was also one of the last concerts where they played the cool version of Radioactivity. In 2002, they ruined Radioactivity by oversimplifying it. It just sounds boring. There are still some versions from nowadays that are worth listening to. In the early 2010s, they added 3 languages to Radioactivity. But they also added some languages to Showroom Dummies like Portuguese and Croatian.

@@KanalvogtSG My favourite performances of the Mix version of Radioactivity are from 1992-1993. I also like the 1990 version which was half English, half German. I noticed that in 2006, when Showroom Dummies and Computer Love returned to the setlist the songs for the first time sounded like the 3D versions. I don't like the 3D Kraftwerk sound, something about it is boring. The Japanese lyrics in Radioactivity since 2012 are cool, but I agree with you, the amazing improvisations stopped after 1998.

The 2000s were good. It's only Radioactivity that bothers me. They changed it to a very boring version in 2002. I love the drumbeats of the 90s version. Especially the claps that go "k k" and "k kk". Pocket Calculator from the 90s is also better. It has much more improvisation than the modern version and the band even let them press on their pocket instruments. Now they stand in front of their "Kling-Kling tables" and sing that they are the operators with their pocket calculator even though they don't do it anymore. Kraftwerk should change Radioactivity and Pocket Calculator back to the 90s version when they continue their concert activities in 2022. But they should not play with pocket instruments in Pocket Calculator. They should play with tablets instead. Someone had this idea before.
