When the melody starts at 0:37, pure joy. Classic 80s synth with a timeless beat and the most catchy melody ever made!

The original melody was by Paul Hindemith in "Flute Sonata" from 1936. So more like classic 30s. And then, 5 years from now someone will find yet another older song from where Paul actually got the idea from, and so on and so forth. It's all a copy of a copy.

This is actually the video for the François Kevorkian remix version made for the 1984-film Breakdance. With the success of the broom dance scene, the single was re-released in 1984 replacing the original version with the remix one and was promoted with that music video.

Thanks for posting this. I'm reading Wolfgang's autobiography and came looking for this when he mentioned it. Wolfgang wasn't a big fan of cycling, basically had to learn it just to do this video, and though he continued to cycle afterwards, a close call on a potentially big accident soon put him off forever. His book is good, I recommend it.

It was the first song from Kraftwerk that I heard when I was a child and I liked it, but I didn't know who was the artist. A few years later I realized that the Kraftwerk was :-) This is an amazing track and my favourite song (and video) from Kraftwerk! It brings up great memories...

First time I ever heard of this track was in august 1984 watching Breakin' in movie theater. Will never forget that broom stick scene with Turbo. It killed me when I found out that this track wasn't on the soundtrack LP, despite other tracks being excellent aswell. Took me some time to find out who it was.

Thanks for uploading this video clip :) I think it's better than the better known version because in this video the KW members are involved. I remember a part in Wolfang Flür's book where he talks about the hobby especially of Ralf Hütter and that it was his idea to ride bicycles and produce "Tour the France". And Flür said that he actually never liked riding bicycles. I understand him, I don't like it much either. ;)

Amazing video, I've been a big Kraftwerk fan since early 80's. All 4 look like clones with each one wearing the same suits, helmets and riding similar bikes. I like to see smooth surface roads shown here in the town I live at, I can assure you as a bike rider, with a racer & wheels less than an inch thick, you hit any pot hole, no matter how deep, is like hitting your wheels with a sledge hammer. I've had no end of "pinch punchers" as a result. UK roads get worse every day, it sucks big time!!
