Series/parallel means the coils of the humbucker are either in series (standard humbucker), or parallel wired, to be almost like 2 single coils on a Strat (think: pos2 or pos4).

Wish the headstock was painted tiger strike with these. I know the vintage and deluxe ones are. It's just a shame it's not on these models but for the price - honestly, Kramer are really banging it out with the value. This will be my third Kramer after the Kramer Baretta Special and Jersey Start.

To be that internet nerd on the George Lynch point, the guitar was never a Kramer. He played Kramer that is true, but the famous Bengali tiger guitar he built with parts in 1978... So I would guess probably Boogie Bodies parts. He had Kramer on the headstock and later ESP but he mentions they have their name on it as they've worked on it. Obviously we also know it's likely to satisfy his deal with ESP. There's a video of this on KZitem from George. But yeah it's also true in the later stages/80s all Kramer parts were ESP. Also yeah, this headstock would never have been on a FR with SD pups, but obviously they aren't going to ship with a Rockinger bridge. And yes Kramer did switch to SD pups away from Schaller, continued with the Schaller machine heads. I have this guitar but would like it with the banana headstock.

This is the second reviewer for this guitar that has mentioned it has a 14 radius fingerboard but yet on the sites here in the states to buy it from it mentions that it's a 12 radius and I remember that for a fact because I know that a floyd when the shims are taken out of it is a 12 radius and they come stock as a 10 radius with the shims in so I'm just curious can somebody verify that this is or isn't a 12 or 14 radius fingerboard. By the way thanks for playing some cleans using the coil taps which is there everybody just plays this thing super high gain and doesn't even bother to play it clean and I really wanted to hear it thank you. .

Only thing i dislike about the 2 kramers i have are the "treble bleed" capacitors they arent a real treble bleed they turn it to a on off... i clipped it off my baretta and wow night and day.

This guitar truly is the best of both worlds. It is a shredding machine but can also act like a Strat. Yes, you could buy the likes of an Ibanez RG if you’re a shredder, but they very much feel like a guitar only for shredding as the neck is incredibly thin. The Kramer has a neck very similar to a Strat.

You asked for my opinion on this guitar and I'm going to give it to you I bought one. First statement I got to make if you have larger hands and you're used to playing Jackson's with wider fingerboards and smaller frets then it takes a while to get used to this guitar my guitar arrived so out of whack I couldn't play anything without the strings buzzing everywhere it was terrible I thought about sending it back but zzounds return policy would have left me with no guitar for a couple days so it took me a week of doing a truss rod and action setups to get this thing to stop from buzzing and have some decent action. an $800 guitar shouldn't need a full set of the first day you get it especially to be able to play it to any degree. So there is that then the electronics in this guitar not speaking about the pickups themselves but the wiring was so horrendous that touching on the back of the pickup cavity cover would cause buzzing and cracking. Upon taking the cover off I can see the cheapest wiring I've ever seen in my life wiring this thing together I immediately bought some decent wire and wired it together and the thing immediately sounded a thousand times better and also didn't make noise every 5 seconds or if you looked at it wrong. The parallel series push pull pots didn't do much for me it seemed like they just lowered the volume. I rewired and split the coils and although I never use a bridge pickup coil split I've always used the neck pickup with my coil split and I'm not happy with this jazz pick up in the neck position whatsoever. It just sounds kind of blah and weak when playing solos it's okay when it's a full humbucker playing clean chords but splitting the coil really sounds like a buzzy mess instead of a nice single coil tone it's got to be replaced. Neither the JB or the jazz pick up cleaned up well at all and the treble bleed controls, well all they did it seem was ad trouble but keep the volume low and distorted still I clipped them off and all the sudden the pickups cleaned up a lot better and I say a lot better but they still did not get pretty clean until you turn down to almost nothing. I will say the Floyd Rose 1000 stays in tune much better than the specials do however I was told by Floyd Rose that the 1000 is basically the original just made in a different country but you can see the paint wearing off the post from adjusting to action and the post look like their copper zinc plated the soft material that the specials are made out of they're not steel by any means. The collar for the bar is horrible just as bad as my special I had on my schecter it's not smooth it won't stay tight I tried to put one of the newer Floyd arms on it that has the bushing in it that keeps it stiff with no play but because of the route being so close the nut that holds the coupling on for those bars we're not allowing the Floyd to return to zero that's how close the route is to this thing. It's the first floyd I've had top mounted since I had an original barretta back and say 84 85, and I just don't see any reason now why not to route the fluid instead of top mounting it it's very hard to do the Brad gillis flutter thing without it banging and smacking into the body. This guitar is also a heavy beast I have a bad back and it seems like it weighs at least four pounds more than my Jackson and my charvel , which are alder I believe. Now enough complaining about everything that really needed to be said because it really was horrible there was all that stuff wrong with a brand new guitar at that price point but anyway there are a few good things about it the finish on this flawless and looks amazing it looks much better than the tiger stripe finish I had on a 1500 Jackson soloist where you can see the tape marks and it was just yellow and black this finish on this kramer is far superior. The neck feels great the only thing that I have to get used to is the higher frets this neck is making me kind of relearn my fretting technique due to my larger hands and being used to the flatter and water fingerboards of the Jacksons and the charvel. This guitar isn't made for playing certain types of jazz clean cords on it's definitely for shredding and that's what it looks like so all in all I'm semi happy with the guitar I'm not happy that I had to do all that work to it and keep adjusting it the only other issue I have is it seems like the access to the 22nd fret is a little hard if you have a large hands. The overall clean sound of the guitar is just too bright I'm going to have to change the pickups to some DiMarzios I've never really been a Seymour Duncan fan although I will say the JB doesn't sound that bad after I did the rewiring but at first it was horrible it sounded hollow sounding and it was horrible clean the jazz I just don't like. Once I find the right set of DiMarzios to put in this guitar since I'm not used to having a guitar with a maple body and a maple fingerboard and it's not only going to look smoking but it's going to sound smoking right now it sounds hot but it's going to be a flamethrower once I find the right DiMarzios to put it in. Now I don't know if it's possible that I got it done and somebody just wasn't paying attention with the horrendous wiring and the setup being what it is that the guitar did get shipped halfway across the country into an area where I live where it was damp and raining and the humidity switches from one day to excessive to severely dry so I really didn't want to send the guitar back and be without that one so I've made the adjustments to myself and so far after about a week it's settled down. One good thing is the pacers now had the truss rod adjustment at the top of the neck instead of at the heel. I posted several videos on me playing this thing and it's bringing out a lot of flaws on my playing because of having to get used to it but I'm hoping once I get used to it can be my main guitar because it does just look totally awesome. Edit: after a month,the switch has gone bad.

Being a guitar player for 40 years, I grew up in the 70s and 80s influenced by the players at the time. All the "posers" as the grunge people afterwards called them, still can't hold up to those classic players.But with outlandish players you must have outllandish guitars. Out of all Kramer/ Charvel/ Jackson incarnations the Pacer in Begal Tiger screams 80s Metal. Will be getting mine soon but will upgrade the pickups to George Lynch's Seymour Duncan Screamin Demons. Does anyone know the difference between the Kramer pacer classic and the vintage?
@spaceavenger54
Жыл бұрын
I just bought a vintage about a month ago, it it has a maple body I'm not sure what the classic is but the biggest difference I've seen is the vintage has a Floyd Rose 1000 vs. A Floyd Rose special on the classic. The vintage also has Seymour Duncans in it. I'm not sure what's in a classic but I do not think that they're branded. I'm also pretty sure that the classic doesn't have the push-pull pots. What are the small detail but the two vintages I've seen the white and a tiger do not have painted headstocks like the classics do.

Both the Pacer and the Beretta are excellent shred machines given that they're loaded with Seymour Duncan pickups Floyd Rose 1000 tremolo systems with R2 locking nuts, meaning that they will do you a really great job for guitars that will do you a great job for under $1,000
@CagedPaps

Possibly too late now, but I would say consider the neck. But first let's not pretend, part of what makes them cool is the aesthetics - in which case the the single angled pickup is part of that, so if you like that then ultimately the Baretta is the one. (There was a Pace in the 80s with a single pickup, more like The '84 they have now). Anyway, then you've got the headstock, they currently have classic banana but also the later upswept one on the newer custom graphics variants. The pacer has the older 'beak' headstock. Personally if I'm going for the Baretta I want the banana. If you only want the upswept one then that's one of the custom graphics and the radius is 12.6, so rounder than the Pacer. In which case I'd say the Pacer was more geared towards shredding. The Baretta though comes with 3 radius options, the Special (the cheapest one without a FR) is a 12, the Baretta is a 14 and the Baretta custom graphics are a 12.6... But yeah the plain Baretta is the one closest to the Pacer as far as neck, so that would be my choice. Though I own a Pacer.

This comment can be ignored by all the idiots who think all Tonewood sounds the same or has no effect on the Guitar's tone, but the reason this guitar sounds so dynamic and alive is because it's made of Maple. This particular Tonewood is very dense and heavy, and for that reason, it sustains like crazy, has a very forward top-end and deep, tight Bass. You know, the complete opposite of Tone-sapping Basswood.
