Depending on whom you listen to, kratom, an indigenous plant from Southeast Asia, is either a wonder plant used for hundreds of years to alleviate pain, anxiety and opioids cravings and withdrawal, or the next deadly scourge that needs to be banned completely.
On February 20, 2019, the Drug Enforcement and Policy Center and the American Kratom Association organized a panel to explore what kratom is and what regulatory framework should be applied to it in order to create the most public benefit.
