Kreator is legendary. The most major band of the Big Four German thrash metal heavyweights consisting of Kreator, Destruction, Sodom, Tankard. Big 4 Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, Slayer, meh only their 80s output qualifies as legit thrash. Teutonic Thrash Big 4 bands stayed true to the genre.
Wishing the setlist consisted of solely classic old school masterpieces Pleasure to Kill, Terrible Certainty, Out of the Dark into the light, it did include from albums Extreme Aggression, Coma of Souls, newer songs although more mainstream power metal sound better live plus Kreator stage has such fantastic theatrics their show is such an immersive escape. Opening title track of their latest album Hate Uber Alles on Nuclear Blast Records is a banger.

Last time I saw Kreator they were on tour with Morbid Angel for Coma of Souls. Met songwriter frontman Mille Petrozza then, this time met drummer Ventor (vocalist for the anthems Riot of Violence & Under the Guillotine) whose live drumming this evening is even better than recordings. It's phenomenal how their highly revered classic album Pleasure to Kill from March 1986 not only sounds great today • KREATOR Pleasure to Ki... also historically set the groundwork for early songwriting by death thrash metal bands first records. For instance, Sepultura. As an influence for Max and Igorr Cavalera brothers' killer riffs and songs on their debut recording Morbid Visions end of the same year in November 1986. I'd rather listen to Pleasure to Kill or Dark Angel Darkness Descends over Slayer Reign in Blood any day. Kreator's follow up record Terrible Certainty is also one of the greatest thrash metal albums of all time.
"I'm really happy to be back in the US this May with the mightiest of all… Sepultura," said Kreator's Mille Petrozza. "A new 'Klash Of The Titans' partnership and an absolutely stacked bill from start to finish. I'm looking forward to checking out Spiritworld live - a great new band with big riffs. Plus sharing the stage with the legendary Death Angel. Awesome! Can't wait… see you in the pit!"
"I'm very excited to be back in North America with our friends and my personal idols Kreator!" added Sepultura's Andreas Kisser. "They were a very strong influence in our early days, and it's great to see they are stronger than ever, which is how I feel with Sepultura as well. It's going to be a historical run.

The legendary Kreator is a German thrash metal band from Essen, formed in 1982. Their current lineup consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Miland "Mille" Petrozza, drummer Jürgen "Ventor" Reil, lead guitarist Sami Yli-Sirniö, and bassist Frédéric Leclercq. The band's lineup has changed multiple times over its 41-year career, most noticeably with their bassists and lead guitarists. Petrozza and Reil are the only two original members left in Kreator, although the latter took a break from the band from 1994 to 1996. Yli-Sirniö has been the lead guitarist of Kreator since 2001, while Leclercq joined in 2019 to replace Christian Giesler band member since 1994.
To date, Kreator has released 15 studio albums, 2 EPs, 2 live LPs, 3 compilations. Pleasure to Kill (1986) put em on the international thrash metal map well regarded as a key influential album of the genre. Many of their subsequent albums - including Terrible Certainty (1987), Extreme Aggression (1989) and Coma of Souls (1990) - were also highly acclaimed. Despite being an influential band, as well as one of the first European thrash metal acts to sign to a major label (signing to Epic Records in 1988), Kreator would not achieve mainstream popularity until later albums Phantom Antichrist (2012) and its follow-up Gods of Violence (2017), both of which charted highly in many countries, with the latter reaching number one on the German charts. The band has achieved worldwide sales of over two million units for combined album sales making them the best-selling German thrash metal band of all time.
