Amen! Love your thoughts here, I think about some scenario too that ends deaths & suffering on both sides. I of course am not ASSUMING some quick coming to understanding by Russians, but the future could involve it, earlier OR later. I would love to hear scholars (historians, area specialists, economists scientists, political scientists, other experts, etc.) & natives of Russia describe for us some scenarios that maybe could lead to this outcome. I assume many of them are thinking about this now. That's good. One reason for having humility in prediction is that there is so much significant historical change that noone necessarily predicted beforehand. Also, the political culture of regular Russians and the political organization of Russia is set up to NOT encourage political action. I don't know what other bases of collective political action might be utilized. Religious institutions do not appear to be the place. But perhaps these stifling institutions mean the pressure just has to come from somewhere else. Besides the families of dead soldiers, those soldiers who make it out alive & come back home, will they be important actors? Another idea is the available Russians outside of Russia being possibly significant actors in creating change within Russia. Putin perceives all of these people a threat from what I can tell, that could be a clue that they ARE a threat to his rule. This would include all the people who have recently left Russia because of the war. This includes journalists among others. I realize there are really three questions: 1)How the war stops, 2) how Putin is ousted, & 3) how Russia becomes more democratic. Good to remember. Thanks for your comments, they spurred me to think about these matters that you posed.

Wake up Russia! May Blessed Velychkovsky and St Mary MacKillop of Australia, St Joseph, St George and St Michael the Archangel, intercede with the Almighty for an end to this terrible war with a just peace for Ukraine (Return of all Ukrainian territory including Crimea). May Our Lady of Perpetual Help comfort all who have lost loved ones and be with those who have been injured. May all Ukrainians who have died Rest in Peace. May Bakhmut remain in Ukraine's hands.

Edward, do you know why the Almighty and the saints you listed have seemingly not felt the need to intercede thus far? It is a baffling situation.

I'm not a weapons expert by any stretch of the imagination, but does the rocket pod on the helicopter at 2:30 look like a cheap prop to anyone else?

@Xxaphius I don't think we're talking about the same thing. I'm referring to the big cylinder full of tubes that looks like a rocket pod prop in an Ugandan action movie.
