Kristen Windmuller-Luna, curator of African arts at the Cleveland Museum of Art, considers Ethiopia’s artistic and cultural worlds during the late medieval and early modern eras. In the early 1400s, the powerful Christian Ethiopian kingdom began a series of diplomatic missions to Europe that would last for two centuries. This talks centers on the story of the Ethiopian royal impersonator and world traveler Sägga Krәstos, whose portrait miniature was recently acquired by the Allen.
