@amcra1 Years later, your comments are STILL idiotic. Ever heard of Eric Braeden? He's one of the most respected soap opera actors in Hollywood and has a stellar reputation industry-wide. Most people simply know him as VICTOR NEWMAN.

Who the hell wants to be on a soap especially Y&R for 23 1/2 years. It's like applauding mediocrity. Kristoff should want better for himself. He was talented enough to stop doing the stupid soaps and get into primetime.

+amcra1 I love acting. I love my peeps at Y and R. I have had a successful prime time career as well. You are entitled to your opinion regarding Soap Operas, but my medium is the hardest working and the most underrated. The A list and Prime Time actors at large could not endure the pace…nor would they probably want to. I feel HONORED to be the 'longest running African American male to act on a television series, for 25 years straight…in the history of television." I say this with pride…and humility. I feel blessed…even if people think my medium or my work is mediocre. I am okay with that. Love and respect. Blessings to you and your family. KSJ

I agree with you amcra. I've been watching soaps for over 30 years and I've never saw it as some masterful artistry. As far as Kristoff goes I wonder how proud he is now considering he barely has a storyline on YR now. You have to wonder that if a man says he loves acting why stay on a soap and never venture out and do more meaningful work on screen and stage. Did this man really say prime time actors couldn't endure the pace? Yeah I'm sure, Sterling K. Brown or Robin Wright would really have a hard time with the shit Y&R's been putting out lately. Give me a break. Imagine if Julianne Moore or Kevin Bacon foolishly stayed on a lackluster medium that undervalued, and underpaid them.

Does that mean that the man should allow himself to do horrible work. Yeah it's a job but why subject yourself to doing mediocrity. Just like his response, soap actors swear they're doing renowned work. They're not. The industry doesn't even respect soap actors. My point was that Kristoff is a great actor who should at least challenge himself. It's not commendable to me to be on a show for damn near 30 years and be undervalued. This man was a guest star on damn near every black show in the 90's. He's done movies but he's never jumped ship and really embarked on a successful tv career. It's a shame.

@@amcra1 Yeah he's a great actor but that doesn't mean if he leaves y&r he's gonna get work. He has a job. He's not complaining. His bills are getting paid. I'm happy for him.
