Sweet machine! I have a 701 with a Yosh can and Rotty goodness on it, including the PC6 with their map. I see the video is 2 years old, so ya probably got a PC by now. If not, get one, because it makes a holy crap difference vs. just the dongle. Rear preload adjustment is a pain, my usual hook tool adjuster thingie for my other KTM won't get access, but at least for me it is a set it and forget it deal. I found supporting the bike under the skid plate to unweight the back wheel, a little WD40 on the collar to lube it, and the perfect fitting screwdriver with some careful tapping allowed me to turn the plastic preload adjuster without damaging it. There is no need to pull the shock if careful. I know this is not an anodized billet aluminum sexy bit of advice, but it is free, and it works 😆

Seat Concepts a must on the 690 and the Perun rack a nice add. Clutch slave cylinder upgrade a must as well; very happy with the Oberon.

Great overview of the 690. I briefly considered that bike but the added expense to get it travel ready really brings the cost up.

Valid point but still 100 lbs lighter (maybe less after rally tower). The motor is remarkably smooth for a single and plenty of beans.
@MobMoto

I agree it needs a rally tower immediately for the wind protection which = $1500 to $3000.

Sweet KTM, nicely modded. Love tower and custom levers! I did manage to destroy a double take mirror. I too love my seat concepts on my F800gs. I recelntly aced ram mount in favor of quad lock. Much mo betta.

Gosh, I have been on the border of getting a '23 690 Euro or a '23 890 Adventure. I ride a F850GSA -- amazing pig. I took my F850 from Miami to Thailand -- 25,000 km over 5 months and it did not even burp -- Nothing is better than a BMW for safety and reliability and comfort. Its why I never considered a KTM which is historically the opposite. But things have changed and I am planning a 30,000 km ride over 6 months to Africa and I need to drop pounds... 890 Adv is 100 lbs less than the BMW. 690 Enduro is 200 lbs less... I really want to believe that I can take the 690 if it was beefed up for safety, reliability and comfort... This bike is almost exactly what I want. Next question -- with all the monkeying around -- is it reliable? If I'm in the middle of the Congo -- will it fail? Can I pack on 30,000 km and not wish I had a bigger bike for comfort? Thoughts from Tengu?

Don't understand the desire for a rally fairing on this bike unless it is mainly for looks. Rode a 690 with one and it just made the front end heavy and created turbulent air around my helmet.

Holly cow ! Looks like a monster Rally ready bike. More bling on that 690 than a Tiffany store. Very nice. Do you feel the Nomad Adventure rally tower and fairing changed how the front end handles? Did the Baja Squadron come from Nomad or did you kit it directly. So when will you be doing Baja 1000 ;-) Kam
@revoltanv5248

Thanks! As far as changes in the handling.. it changes your mindset as to what the bike is supposed to be. It removes a bit of the enduro/dirt bike feel by changing the visibility. I did also have to limit the steering angle a little to not bind the hydraulic lines. Wind protection is awesome though. I did the upgrade for the BD lights but I’m looking for an amber cover for them as they are a bit harsh and too crisp at night. Baja maybe in a year or two! lol
