This is not about just performance, rightly said on paper numbers aren't the real picture. On the road manners like ease of reaching ground, slow speed maneuverability, U turns or even taking bumpy expansion joints at speeds with ease do make a difference between a good and a comfortable motorcycle. Indian mindset of buying for the brand without looking for what's needed does diminish the critical thinking from a customer perspective and hence such observations are left to only enthusiasts. Appreciate your effort to bring out such diminutive yet pertinent details. Cheers and Happy Motoring ✌️

I don't think ktm will able to improve low end torque. It's not difficult to achieve but considering obsession of ktm towards the performance from a small displacement motorcycle it's quite difficult. There're three ways to get good low end torque 1. Low compression ratio combined with early intake valve closing. 2. Increase the displacement. 3. Incorporate VVT/ VVL like technology. #1 &2 is go to choice

I don't know but i rode all three G310r, duke 390 and Adv 390 but ultimately bought Continental GT650 (also purchased OEM interceptor handlebar and top plate). Now i have essentially both bikes, in city or short rides of 400-500 kms i keep the clip ons but on longer 1000+ kms rides I charge it to Interceptor handlebars. And bhai is literally unphased at 120kmph all day long. With a seat cushion I did Alibág to ujjain 698kms in 9hrs(including mankoli naka trafic) and it was my PR 😝 Basically I urged everyone to at least try and ride interceptor 650 for a good 20 km and then make a decision on buying a motorcycle.

I guess both of you are yet to ride the Honda CB300R, the riding experience is at another level compared to these two. I was very wrong about the aftersales service of this product, Honda has really put in some decent effort to increase Big Wing dealers and service network. Prices, though very high, shall come down if the recent price reductions are taken into consideration.

Brother verry well explained but let me tell you Ktm seats can be modified to provide the extra comfort that is in the BMW g310 my friend has done the same and pulls 150km at a stretch without aching his butt. But no matter what BMW offer best in class suspensions which has its advantages as well disadvantages. In this price range BMW offers obsolete technology as compared to todays generation KTM modelss....as comparing the two BMW service cost maintaince is on higher note with no presense of service network( which is big issue to look forward). They do provide RSA but at high cost. No doubt the quality of BMW on other hand is extremely great. And to look into both companies are making equal effort to offer something or the other in their motorcycle but if you in todays date BMW has just entered indian market and need to develop its market size and offer something other then its brand value... A person like me if i had to look for value o money i would choose KTM over BMW in todays date.

I bought my rtr 1604v 3 years back. After a few months, i felt the power was less for riding on the highway. How much cc is required for smooth cruising at 110 km/hr? Like rtr, i need the exact or more smooth and refinement also with good mileage. i wonder when tvs will launch a 250cc bike.

What about ground clearance on 390 vs 310? Is there any significant difference when clearing tall speed breakers?
@thesportztourer
2 жыл бұрын
Both do an excellent job. I recently took the 310R off the road (not a serious trail with jumps or water crossing but with big undulations) and it did not scrap once, same applies to speed breakers where it takes them without touching the belly. I found the ground clearance riding experience similar to my RTR 200.

The G310R is refined but ride them back to back and you will conclude that the RTR 200 is probably one of the most refined single cylinder motorcycle out there. Do note that at high RPMs when you are doing 100+kmph then G310R feels more refined and composed when compared to the RTR 200.
