Eating, for sure. With Malaysia's diverse cultures comes local cuisine. So many that you probably need more than 3 weeks to try them all, then there's the local cuisine that are only sold in specific states of Malaysia. Glad you were able to spend some time here and thanks for the video!

shopping, food, bukit nenas jungle walk(free) it is next to kl tower, kl bird park. Kl bird park is the largest in the world(no cages). To be frank, malaysia does not have many museums like europe. I understand that switzerland has 500 museums. Not here and boring for me to visit museums. Probably in cairo(egypt) i will do that. Since you like sun beach sea (most western tourists like that), sabah state and east coast has world class islands which are affordable to visitors. Example redang, perhentians, tioman, sapi, rawa, lang tengah. West coast will be pangkor, penang, langkawi.

I learned that the stock market was a rich man's game (yes, grandparents lost it all back then and preached that forever) but I've been around long enough to really taste how great it can be. To be profitable, with inflation at 6.1% These are surely desperate times, but in my opinion, there is no market condition that a good financial advisor cannot navigate, especially those that have existed since the crisis of 2008 and before.

Is there a place for you in the city? The answer is yes. Not just a place in the city, you can find any place in this country. Malaysians are generally nice and friendly people and can accept anyone in the community, as long as they respect the culture, religion, and laws in Malaysia. Malaysia is not a perfect country but the people make it perfect. Please come again. You may try to explore the other states in Malaysia. There are much more beaches, jungles, towns and cultures to be explore.

Very informative video. I have been to Malaysia 5 times which meant a few days stopover in KL each time. I have visited many cities around the world and KL is my favourite city of them all. Apart from the odd neighbourhood mentioned in the video, I have visited all of the main places like Little India, Central Market, Bukit Bitang (Jalan Alor), KL National Masjid, Islamic Museum (close to KL National masjid), KLCC Park, Petronas Towers, KL Tower, Batu Caves, National Monument, Merdeka Square, Istana Negara, Wilayat (Federal Territorial) Masjid, Perdana Botanical Gardens, Bird and Butterfly Park, Eco Forest (next to KL Tower), Hindu Temple in Chinatown, Thien Hou Temple, Chinatown and a few others that I can't remember. I do get what you are saying regarding KL trying to be modern and people trying to catch up but I had no problems at all with the locals - maybe largely due to the fact that I am Muslim of Pakistani heritage but born and bred in England so I can understand their culture and I have many Malaysian friends in the UK. In my visit to Malaysia, the other places I have been to are Melaka, Johor Bahru, Penang, Langkawi, Kuala Terrenganu, Kapas Island, Tioman Island, Perhentian Island, Redang Island and Putrajaya ( this is very close to KL so I don't know if you have visited there)

They just live their lives as usual as they are, no matter from where u are. They welcome all tourists from all over the world in their own way and don't expect Malaysian peoples will besiege you like a celebrity when u are in Malaysia. Malaysian won't do that.

Like what 'the otherside' american vlogger said. It is the most under rated country along with laos in south east asia. But we prefer to be under rated so that our islands remain pristine and nature unspoilt. That is why many westeners were shock when they visited laos or malaysia for the first time. Most people visit singapore, thailand and bali (indonesia), philippines. They will seldom go to myanmar, vietnam, laos or malaysia.

(with over 26 million) to Thailand (40 million) in international tourist arrival even though we don't have that 3B attraction (beaches, boobs and booze). Our Medical or Health Tourism sees over 1.2 million arrival in 2018. Even in high-education sector we have around 83,000 international students from 120 countries studying here. We just don't brag about it most of the time...

Excellent video TN you nicely captured the essence of KL in a brief eighteen minutes. Your experience with that Indian merchant is not unique, many of the Indian merchants and currency exchange owners have reputation for dishonesty and are not widely loved by even the locals. Beyond a few bad apples the people of Malaysia are truly generous and welcoming of tourists. The food is every bit as delicious as that of Singapore and there is an incredible amount to do and experience. English is almost universally spoken. Malaysia is one of the great undiscovered destinations in SE Asia.

Malaysia is a nation in Southeast Asia that has territory on both Borneo Island and the Malay Peninsula. The beaches, rainforests, and blend of Malay, Chinese, Indian, and European cultural influences make it famous. @dani-moves

hmmm i would say you can do well with $100 a week for eating out. You can find hotels for less than $60-50 per night You can also travel to other cities for less than $10 USD (bus)

miss.. just FYI, Malaysia is divided into two part. 1st - West Malaysia (Malaysia Peninsular) 2nd - East Malaysia (Malaysia Borneo) West Malaysia (from North to South & East) - Perlis, Kedah, Penang, Perak, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negri Sembilan, Malacca, Johor, Pahang, Terengganu & Kelantan. East Malaysia (from west to east) - Sarawak, Labuan & Sabah. Each state has its own uniqueness. Feel free to explore my country. Welcome to Malaysia!

“Is there a place for me?” I was happy with this video until you pondered this question. Maybe I misinterpreted, but it sounds very entitled. I am an American who recently moved to Penang for work. I feel very comfortable here as a long term visitor. You stated you met people of many ethnicities and then wondered if there was a place for you. Wow. Just wow.
@dani-moves

Hi, sorry you are seeing things that way. My tone or demeanor is never entitled. I don't think I'm anything special lol so no need to diminish me for what I said (in a non malicious way.. why would i do that? lol). There are many ethnicities but Americans and hispanics are a minority. I did not meet any Americans, let alone Hispanics. I did not feel welcomed by certain people. You are going to Penang for work so I'm sure you are getting there with a sense of community or some sort of people that make you feel welcomed. I was a tourist going to tourists and non-tourists places. Our experiences are different. I am kindly choosing not to speak about the poor experiences I had in detail here. As an alternative I asked that question in a NICE way. As a rhetorical question or even to get the view of people. But no need to call me entitled. So I see your comment and feel exactly the same "wow.. just WOW"

Besides Bali and Thailand, Malaysia is kinda off the beaten trail for nomads, which is good. Is there a place for you besides being classified as a western tourist or expat? Sure, if you take steps to blend in, live like they do and speak like they do. Drop that US accent, pick up some decent Bahasa and that will up your street creds in no time. It is the same principle in every welcoming place and KL is one of them.

@@dani-moves i think you visited during eid holidays. So most places are closed and traffic moved away from kl and into small towns or tourist places. It is like trying to go shopping on a sunday in switzerland where nothing opens. Or christmas holidays. At least you get to see the caves and temple inside. I can imagine the chaos if you come during thaipusam festival. Millions will visit the caves and you may not like it (some tourists like the vibes and crowd) but this is pandemic right. A small tip. Do not feed or look at the monkeys in malaysia (no eye to eye contact). They will be aggressive and attack you or grab your bags or purse.

Where are all the great things you talked about? How come you didn't show those? Most of what I've seen in your video are the grey sky, gloomy landscape, and plain-looking buildings. The landmarks are bland, with a couple of exceptions, malls, and a very subdue environment.

Hi! not sure what you mean by "available"? I think they are heading back to normal when it comes to COVID restrictions, so everything is available. You can use agoda.com to check at hotels. and there is Halal food pretty much everywhere around the city of KL hope this helps :)
