Daniel Chambers fuel filter is pretty easy I thought it was going to be messy and have to bleed air from the system but the newer ones don’t need it

Thanks for doing this video on changing the fuel filter. After watching it I had the courage to change mine on my 2015 B2650 (with a cab) with 400 hours now. I've always had the service guys come and do it before and it was getting too expensive. I watched then do it but they did it so quickly I couldn't really see what they did until I watched your vid several times. I did it this am and got it off and on OK. Lost some fuel but the same as you. I've got the damn air conditioner hoses right behind it which made it a little more difficult. Thanks again. FYI I had a brass tip made for the end of my exhaust pipe which directs the soot down and not on my loader (same problem you have).

Jim Meisner happy to be able to help I’m an auto mechanic and enjoy sharing knowledge and fixing things I just did another video on changing the fuel filter along with other service items. I keep forgetting to look for a pice if pipe when I’m at Home Depot for the exhaust. If you ever have any questions ask. Thanks for watching Matt

Thanks for the detailed way you changed that filter out, I have a B2650 cab model, Bought a fuel filter, HST and HYD guard from Paul and Kathy Short, easy to install but of course you have to unbolt it when the change out time comes up - also I have heater and A/C hoses to deal with as well, but at least you eased my mind about the priming procedure to be done before starting it back up. Checked my hoses for wear and found a little rubbing action going on - will follow your previous video on how to protect those hoses. Luckily I have only 68 hours on mine so far and caught them before any real damage happens. Really love this machine, again - thanks for your videos. Robert from Oregon.

fuel tank needs to be less than half full only to stop the fuel syphoning back into the filter when bowl is removed

Nice video Matt. I bought a fuel filter online but might be the same one as mentioned below. Mine is Mr. Funnel Fuel Filter Funnel. Works great but a little slower filling the tank though. No need to clean the filter after using it per the instructions with it.

Please don't tap or blow out the air filter that's the fastest way to ruin a diesel engine my neighbor used to do that instead of buying new filters and he ruined the motor in the tractor cause he was to cheap to buy a filter,. You should try using the filter funnel they have them at tractor supply and it filters the fuel as you put it in I love the one I have and it's interesting to see what's in the bottom after you run 5 gallons of anything through it!

Hey Jim, what fuel filter do you use to catch crap out of your fuel can so it doesn't go into your tractor? You mentioned getting one at tractor supply, right? Thanks

My mistake it's called mr funnel portable fuel filter. You might even be able to extend the life of the filter longer by using it.

great info not trying to be cheap especially with what the tractor cost, I guess the next time I'm near the dealer ill stop in for an air filter. I guess the next time I'm at tractor supply ill look for one of them filter funnels

Jim, I actually have that funnel. I bought it a couple years back to keep water from mixing into my gasoline that I used for my field generator. Heck, I gotta pull that out of my stack of stuff that I accumulated (chuckle). Thanks for making the comment about that filter. I just didn't think of it. Yes, the filter separates water from mixing in with fuel. Big thumbs up to ya.

clearing brush the other day on my L2501 when a stick/limb hit my fuel bowl... started leaking like a sieve! i couldn't find a shut off valve nowhere. realized the bowl had loosened up caused by stick. hand tightened, all is good. question, why does the fuel not pour out when engine and bowl is off? is there some kinda plunger at the bowl or is it a pump that runs the direct injection system while engine is running? thanks for the how to vid!
@Mattsneedforspeed

mr mojo risen I’d say it has a valve to stop fuel flow when you remove bowl so it doesn’t keep draining the tank, design feature?
