The manual has a maintenance chart and it does say. Great explanation of an easy oil change

The drain plugs are 19mm not 20mm. 20mm works but is a rare size and someone could round off their oil plugs. Thanks for tip on using channel locks for oil filter and where the dipstick was. Mine was stuck in hard with rubber grabbing and I never would have guessed that was the dipstick. I may have missed it (fast forwarded a bit because you were too slow in getting to good stuff) but I never heard you mention the oil capacity.

Most manufacturers require the 50 hour oil change to get rid of debris from assembling and wear in of all the new parts. Nice job Channon! Have a Happy New Years! See ya!

I still think 50hrs is too short. My cummins took like 25k for it to break in and get optimal fuel mileage

Finally found the dip stick thanks to your vid. If it was a snake it would have bit me. I was looking for something yellow like a CAT engine.

Good video. My 3901HST has a service interval chart in toward the back of the Manuel on page 87. It calls for oil and filter change at 50hrs. It also calls for hydraulic oil filter and HST filter (filters only) change at 50hrs. Welcome to the HST club😂

Yes it says 400 hours, I don't feel good about that myself. I will probably stick with 50 to 100 since it is not a big problem to do.

Yeah it’s easy enough to do,I’ll do mine once a year..that’s why i buy the cheap oil lol

totally agree. If nothing else, it sure doesn't hurt to have a closer look at things.

I like the strap wrenches that attach to a ratchet. You have to really squeeze a set of pliers pretty hard to get them to grip

I changed my oil the 1st time at 50 hours and then 100 and then 150. and from now on, every 100 hours.

That’s also a good way to do it,I’ll do mine per year or per 100 hours which ever comes first lol at this rate I’ll probably hit 100 hours before a year goes by lol

19mm is what I used on the drain plug. Guess a millimeter isn't going to matter much

Uhhh, oil is oil huh? No difference in the ratings or weights? You might want to do some research about the ratings and additives used in oil. Go ahead and keep using the cheap stuff. Maybe you won't have any issues, but I'd be willing to bet the longevity of your engine will be less then if you use a good recommended oil.

Keep it changed and u will be fine..it’s a lubricant, some may be better than other’s but in the end they are doing the same thing, keep it changed and it will be fine..just my opinion, thanks for the comment!
