I have r4 industrial tires on my 70 hp tractor, 15x19.5 on the front and 18.4-24 on the back I have been very happy with the tires very nice in the mud and dirt, not so much on ice. I did buy front and rear chains and the tractor is unstoppable now in the winter. I live in Montana though, so my weather is a bit different. Tomorrow is April 11th and they are calling for 18"- 24" of snow on my ranch!!! Thanks for the videos!!!

Good advice. When I bought my M7060 I had to order it and added every option, 12 speed, creeper gears, air seat, Rear defrost window (adds larger alternator with that) Cast and loaded rears with radials and optional lighting and 3 rear remotes. My dealer at the time had about 10 to 12 M7060 cabs on the lot but every one of them was an 8 speed with zero options. I asked them why and they said because of price and people price them against JD E models that are stripped down too. I did my homework and agree with you on not only the wheels but the seat and other options as well. You get the best bang for your buck on getting these tractors loaded with options, have a MUCH better user experience and a way better resell value. People always say the Kubota it a light tractor, I say you can make them weight as much as you want. My M7060 is as heavy and some 100HP tractors.

I agree!:) when I changed the tire and wheel combination it just made it a different tractor. Sometimes it’s worth getting a couple extra options. I probably would’ve ended up getting a M5 before but now I can’t see it leaving the property. Thanks for watching.

The width spacing of your front wheels will have no effect on hillside stability. Your front axle has a centre pivot point under the engine, so any terrain changes will rotate around the centre pivot point. Wide rear wheels will definitely help with stability. Nice looking tractor there.
@genewilliams7497
3 жыл бұрын
All front axles have stops built into the axle housing that prevent unlimited travel/rotation of the axle side to side. If not the front tires would be into the loader all the time.
@kevinjensen7465
3 жыл бұрын
@@genewilliams7497 That is correct, but when it comes to hillside stability, like you said in the video, by the time the tractor has rotated as far as the axle stops, you are too far gone to be able to stop rolling over. I have my rear wheels spaced reasonably wide for stability, and my front wheels not quite as wide but mainly for visual appearance. Where ever anybody has their wheel spacings, safety is very important.

In the Kubota build site there is also an option for the air ride upgrade: AIR RIDE SEAT SUSPENSION UPGRADE KIT (M9270). Sounds like your Kubota salesman did a lousy job of helping you spec out the tractor.

I’d go for the deluxe with radials and the air ride seat if I were to do again. Tires probably made more of a ride difference than the seat. But it’s been a great tractor and I’m very happy with it. Just took some changing to get it how I wanted it:) and even after my changes I’m still under what most dealers were asking at the time.

Went through the Kubota build site. The default option is for the Ag Tire - Radial Rear. The other Ag option is the Ag Tire - Biased Rear. There is no information on weight capacity for either. Looks like you got the FRONT - 9.5-24 R1 GOODYEAR DURA TORQUE, REAR - 16.9-30 R1 GOODYEAR DURA TORQUE CAST (AMR8955C & AMR8935D)
@blakeperkins4133

Yes, that is what I had before (9.5-24, 16.9-30)and they were a biased tire. You can get a wider bias tire which would be fine but I preferred the radials. The ones I replaced those with are lsw320/70r24 and lsw420/75r34. It was just a different tractor after changing them. R1 is just the tread style, and both sets on mine were r1. A lot of people seem to be liking the r14, seems to be a little easier on turf.

Blake, good video! I am in SE Ohio. Dad and I have been talking about upgrading our tractor. My current 40hp Kubota has skinny front R1s. Due to our terrain, it really makes it sketchy when going down a pipeline easement to get to back part of farm. On the new tractor, I have been considering the R4 tires, to give me a wider tire upfront. I don't do a ton of loader work, (some) but will be running a drill via 3pt. Are the tires you put on there R1s but wider or these R4 or R14s? Thank you!
@blakeperkins4133
3 жыл бұрын
Hello there, well the r14s are the size size tire just a different tread pattern. As far as the r4s I don’t know for sure but you could always just see what the actual size they are and compare width, these r1s on mine are 320/70r24. I’d bet they are pretty close. My r4s on our l5030 are pretty good size and awesome for loader work/easy on turf. Also if you are concerned about hills and stability I would set the wheels out in one of the wider settings. Hope this is as clear as mud;)

@@blakeperkins4133 I followed you 100%! So the R1 is the AG pattern but I can get it in a wider setting, for example, the spec. you listed. That is exactly what I want! They dent easy, scratches show more and they are less durable for majority of impacts in terms of maintaining a nice look. New plastics are much better then sheet metal. Kubota has gotten away from metal fenders and use plastics, they should do the same with the hood
