Definitely NOT your typical Briggs & Stratton repair job. Would look great with a new paint job. But it probably be dragged off to some field that needs irrigation, instead of being displayed in a museum.

what do they used this engine for in the old days?

It was mainly used by farmers. They sent water to paddy fields and moved the threshing machine ;)

These repairs are for Japanese farmers? Is this why the engine is never repainted - because the farmer would not want to pay for that?
@garakutadou
4 жыл бұрын
No farmer uses these engines today. In Japan, the spirit of Wabi and Sabi is important. ↓Many Japanese collectors do not paint :) kzitem.info/news/bejne/tJBjnq5moYd6iaQ

@@garakutadou Oh wow! I learnt a lot!. I had heard of wabi and sabi with ceramics only. Totemo Omoshiroi desu/deshita. I like this - to repair but keep the marks of time, I like this very much! But bit sad that no farmer is using today - the engines look like they want to work hard when you are finished :-D. Domo arigato gozaimashita.
