I was in Arifjan about 20 years ago at this point. Came to this video for a little nestalgia, but I dont even recognize the place at all. This almost looks like a resort. So happy for yall. We thought having a Subway was max luxury. You aint lying about that heat either. When I was there we slept in tents worried about camel spiders.

Hi!! I’m going on deployment there next year, and I would like to know more about the place. How is the culture, the people, are you allowed to travel around or not? If someone of your family want to visit you can you go out post and see them ?
@artynikisia943

Hello💓. What is your job ? Yes you are able to travel around (with requirements of your leadership ofc) . I actually loved Kuwait. The people are welcoming, definitely a great experience for me. Kuwait City is breathtaking, a very expensive but beautiful place.

my son is there now what items would you suggest for care packages and any advice would be helpful
@artynikisia943
Жыл бұрын
Any specific snacks that he likes, however there is a store there where he could purchase anything he wants. But if he has a specific brand of soap or specific products that he likes I would say include that in the care package. If not, he is totally set on base! It should be a pretty smooth deployment, so emotional support is always appreciated ❤️

Hey so how long did you stay in Kuwait? Im leaving for AF for Security forces July 10th Monday coming up & I’m slick worried about the deployments and if I can travel back home to visit my boyfriend or not. And also after a deployment do you get deployed somewhere else right after or how does that work?

How was your phone service out there? Did you have to unlock your phone?
@artynikisia943

I turned my phone service off . And AT&T held my phone number until I got back. Tell them you want to do a military suspension on your cell service. And then I just used a Wi-Fi puck during my entire deployment. You can purchase them there.

@@oakoc if you are not married or have a child then you have to stay on base for awhile. Some bases have specific time periods that you HAVE to stay on base. During the time I lived on base I only lived there for about a year and a half. And then we got a lot of new people on base that needed to live in dorms and they allowed me to move off.

@artynikisia943 I am simply so glad you made it back from your deployment safely. I think that is the most important thing of it all, as well as the fact that you seem to have kept that positive attitude and professionalism through each situation. I really appreciate you uploading this as I can definitely say that the last time I was deployed to Kuwait, we didn't have showers or restrooms. We had burn pits and basically out houses. Not to mention it was in my case, a combat deployment. Then again, I came in Security Forces, then cross-trained into what the Air Force is now calling "AFSPECWAR SR" though at the time we called it "SOWT." So I was in combat at different points in all 7 of my deployments. One other thing that I want to say is to just never let anyone else change who you are and while I'm now a disabled combat veteran, and still fighting the VA for my benefits after 10 years so far, seeing you stay with the positive attitude and outlook that you have with all of the changes going on in the USAF, you are inspiring me to keep motivated and keep fighting, and most of all, to stay positive as well. Please keep as safe, happy, and healthy as you can, and always remember that while you rise to the occasion, you fall to the level of your training, in whatever you do. If you train yourself to keep pushing, then you will be able to do it no matter what may come. Thank you again for your inspiring motivation, and for continuing to serve when I no longer can.
