It’s to catch natural rubber, which you then apply to scratches on the tank: where some tree or building chipped the painting or a 100mm projectile left an exit hole … just apply, let it dry, add paint, good as new. And if your tank is actually made from wood, you can put elmer’s glue in there - it’ll wash out of your clothes when you are done.

About the bucket: Some sources (soldiers memoirs, reports etc.) claim that crews of IS-1, KV-85s, KV-1S's and T-34-85's used buckets as fake muzzle brake on their gun, to pose as IS-2's Germans feared IS-2 but there were never enough of them (3400 ever build, compared to tens of thousands of T-34's). All mentioned vechicles, from a distance look really similarly and in the heat of the moment are very hard to distinguish. Sometimes it was for psychological effect to break morale, sometimes it was so that germans focus their defences on "fake IS's" just to be pumelled by real ones from the distance (IS-2 crews reported engagements on distances of 2km. Take a look at anything thats green-on-green in a mud, with smoke around, and try to distinguish if the gun you see is 85mm or 122mm at 2km). And apart of that, a bucket is really useful when you are on campaign for many reasons.

Since the Germans feared IS-2 so much. Soviets used to put the bucket on the barrel of smaller armed tanks to fool German scouts to think they are IS-2's with 122mm, it supposedly looked like a muzzle break of an IS-2 from distance and air. that bucked looks like they milked the Germans.

The reason the KV-85 had a relatively low BR for a long time, is do to the hull does not has the improved armor of the later KVs, so its technically has the armor values of its 3.7 "grandpa" , (and the 85mm doesn't quite makes up for the lack of agility, and gun-handling).
@tagheer1

The bucket on KV-85 was used to cover the end of the 85 mm canon barrel - for long distances the German Scouts would mistake it for a 122 mm canon (IS-2) - so the German forces would sometimes give up the fight and retreat - Russians used the same trick on the T-43-85 as well !!

the Bucket is a tactic used to make the end of the barrel look like more like a muzzle break on an IS-2 to trick enemy scouts into thinking that they had more IS-2s than they really did practice wasnt super wide spread they also did the same with IS-1s and T34-85s

Bo, the bucket was a necessary item if the radiator was leaking, to top it up with any liquid awailable. It was a thing from the beginning of soviet automotive industry, all the way till 90`s and became a local meme. Every selfrespecting truck driver had a bucket hanging somwhere on the truck. So retired truck/tank drivers were hanging (mug sized) buckets on personal vehicles in respect of the tradition.

so the chese bug is a type of coccoon. The liquid is actually the insides of the caterpillar/soon to be moth. The caterpillar digests itself by releasing enzymes liquifying their insides. The caterpillar basically turns itself into a sort of primordial ooze and reforms to morph into a creature with an entirely different anatomy. Nature is weird, beautiful and scary at the same time.

Ok, for the record, Market Garden didn’t look good on paper. Market Garden was basically what Montgomery thought the D Day invasion should look like. Eisenhower, Bradly, Clark and Patton all thought it was a terrible idea that was doomed to fail. No one had changed their mind when Market Garden was given a green light as a consolation prize to Montgomery and a chance for him to attempt to maintain some semblance of relevance. As predicted, he failed, again, and that’s pretty much the last we hear about him for the rest of the war.
