Powerful interview. Thank you Jeff & Kyle. Two comments- 1) Kyle looks out from himself for knowledge and inspiration; a wise young man full of conceptual, technical, and humanistic skills. 2) Back in the 70s when I was 23, I once had an art agent hand me a stack of sell sheets of hundreds of artists and illustrators he represented and told me “When you do something different, come see me.” I looked and continue to look to the masters, because there, more than your contemporaries, will you find the difference that sets you apart.

Another fabulous interview, Jeff. Thank you for continuing to bring fantastic artists and humans to your podcast. I am happy to be the owner of Kyle’s Horses of Eden Valley. The centerpiece of my small collection of a dozen or so paintings from other artists. I am constantly amazed by Kyle’s work…not only the level of refinement and design, but also the prolific amount of work he produces. A truly humble young man, as he will surely be known as one of the greatest of his generation. Thanks again to both of you!

Thank you for standing up for the idea of talent - it is refreshing! I'm tired of all these people who keep saying anyone can do it with enough effort. The results don't bear that out, sorry.

I KNOW! Totally some people are born with talent and innate interest in art. I'm baffled by the widespread idea that anyone can be a great artist by going to a few local workshops or what have you. I feel like that's a lie perpetuated to fill up the classroom.

Loved this interview. I struggle with finding the details that can be left out, or "lost." Those details that don't serve the narrative and this interview helped solidify that for me a little better. Thanks!

Would love to get another instructional video, Kyle. Maybe a “cows in the pasture” scene. Extraordinary and so peaceful. Could stare at them all day. I grew up on a cattle ranch/farm, but now live in a large metroplex. 🫤

Great interview jeff.. Kyle knows the elements of landscape painting. for me Painting outdoors is always about the light and Kyle simplifies forms and thirdly has a fairly analogous color scheme. I would refer to the KZitem videos of Ian Roberts, who breaks down all these elements in a very simple way .💕👍

Kyle is so emotionally intelligent and in tune with his emotions. He naturally understands what an impactful scene is and how to manipulate the light and tones to make it look even better. A true artist

I am 60 and I was told I could never be anything but a secretary. when I was in my 30's I walked into an interior design business and talked my way into doing murals and faux finishes. I left there went out on my own. I was very successful and did this for about 15 years that lead to interior design, now I work for a builder building million $ homes. was invited to talk to high school classes several times. I wanted them to know that they could make a living as an artist.
