Kymco is a big scooter maker from Taiwan. Taiwan is a island with 23.5 million people, however, also with 14 million motorcycles-mostly scooters. Pretty much every adult have a bike. Kymco is the biggest maker in Taiwan, we Taiwanese don’t worry about Kymco’s quality.

I'm 6 ft 5 inches tall so I went to the dealer with apprehension. Pleasantly surprised at the legroom it afforded. Here in Spain the DTX 360 is the 125cc and the Dtx 350 has the 320 cc unit with Abs and traction control. Lack of Honda dealers anywhere near me was a big factor in deciding between the ADV 350 and Kymco 350DTX the latter of which has a service centre 10 mins away. So I'm going to go with the Kymco 👍

You could even carry a 5 litres of fuel under the seat along with tools, puncture kit, waterproofs and a flask..bit like I did when I toured on a T-Max.they make amazing touring bikes with more comfort and protection than a huge touring motorcycle weighing in at 250kg plus!!

Had an order in for an ADV350 since April but Honda dumped the dealer and I was also told I might have to wait until 2023 so went for one of these. Aside from the lack of trip computer and tiny screen (compared to my past maxis), I'm loving it. My only negative so far at 400miles ridden is that the fuel consumption at 78 isn't quite as good as my old Forza 300 (85) or Xmax 300 (95mpg). But that may improve after the 600 mile oil change, so fingers crossed. It feels a lot like my 2014 J300, not surprising I guess, being agile and encouraging you to be a bit of a hooligan. Not complaining about that, though :)

Hopefully once the bike is run in and has its oil change you'll get a greater average MPG. Glad you like the DTX. Thanks for the comment!

I know you did not wanted to wait for the ADV 350 but it tops this scooter in almost every aspect. The suspension is a lot better, if course it's not a real off road bike either but it can take some light stuff easily. It takes bad roads much better, it looks better, is lighter and i think the quality is better overall. Of course Kymco is reliable as hell but i think when it comes to reliability there is nothing that tops Honda

Lovely review gents. Nice work. Service intervals on my ADV350 is 8K. I'm guessing the DTX needs more frequent attention? I know there's no ADVs available until February but I've been really impressed with mine. I've done 5000 miles this summer and I still love it. That's unusual for me. The DTX looks good and sounds similar. Definitely worth a try if your in the market for a fun, functional vehicle.

I think the all time activated key fob is a bit more risky than the press to activate key fob. All you need to be is within a certain distance around your bike and someone can start and steal it. I keep my bike outside at times. I do not want the key fob signal active until I want it to be active or activate it.
@personalhistories4933

Store your key fob inside a metal container. I use a stainless steel vase. Then walk out and test that the scooter won't start.

Love my Kymco Agility 300 city scooter and just ordered a AK550 Kymco to sit along side it in my garage. Yamaha way too expensive in Australia; like $5000 plus more for similar TMax 560 plus Kymco has a Cool pale Blue colour option compared to dull Yammy colours!
