These take about 200 to 250 hours to settle in and start sounding nice, they also need a piece of medium density foam in the nozzle, or just micropore take over the nozzle. Then they are exceptional. Give them some time.. Or put them on the burn in rack for a week. They need like 4Vrms which is not consistent with the price.

Agree with 1 and 2 but i don't think it requires 'absurd' amount of power. I use this time to time from my smartphone. Yes I do turn the volume slightly above than other lower impedance iems. But its not that bad like people are making it to be. Maybe I listen at lower volumes than usual could be it.

I mentioned absurd amount of power because it takes the same power as my Sundara CB full size planar headphones. New for an IEM at this price point. Secondly as I mentioned in the video, the budget category is mostly targeted by beginners, the requirement of a decently powerful USB DAC/AMP is must have. When I tested it with my smartphone(had to use colleagues as mine doesn't have 3.5mm jack), the stage was a little too intimate and the pair also lacked the air both of which sound much improved on my M7. Yes audibly you can get it at a decent level through any source, but driveability I would stay on my point that it requires a decently powerful USB DAC/AMP at the very least.

@@gadgetgenerationspulkit Sure. It definitely is not the first choice if one is exclusively listening from a smartphone. Especially if there are no substitute cables or eartips. And I've swapped both of them, which is why maybe they sound decent with smartphones, otherwise the sound was quite thin to me, too trebly like you mentioned. There is quite a bit of unit variation with kz as well. People from headfi have measured couple of units. They will sound better technically with a better dac/amp, so will any other iem. I just don't think there's a loudness problem here. Not talking about staging, imaging etc. I use poweramp, it sounds pretty good there for the price (with the cable and tip swap). KZitem etc does not sound the best from the smartphone I'll admit. Definitely not a beginner iem. Maybe stuff from truthear or moondrop or even blon might be better. Moondrops qc has been questionable lately at least on the budget side to me.

The real main problem is the ridiculously low sensitivity. You can't drive it on smartphone without a decent DAC dongle. If you don't have it, you'll need to pay extra $70 on top of the price for PR2. It's better to buy PR1 PRO.
@gadgetgenerationspulkit

exactly that's the main concern.

I recently purchased the PR2 and was surprised that a headphone amp is needed to truly get the best out of the product. I was aware of this before I purchased and have a portable headphone amp for my high impedance headphones. All of the criticisms of the PR2 go away when connected to a sufficient amp. I have the Apple dongles for USB and Lightning and they simply are not enough to provide sufficient loud volume levels. With the right power, the PR2s are amazing. The soundstage is impressive and the detail is quite impressive.

@@chrispnw2547 exactly my point bro, not expected from an iem at this price bracket.

Why listen without a dac? Buy something less resolving. The thing performs way out of its price bracket. Crazy to sell it so cheap , it misleads the customer.

@@chrispnw2547Exactly the case. On my dap with 4Vrms double ended output its as good as a Sundara. Low power, it sounds like nothing at all.

IE200 for its lovely midrange, PR2 for its speed and details, 7Hz Timeless would be the last in my list among the three.

High frequency issue can directly be linked to the source used to power the earphones. This is indeed a power hungry pair so a good DAC AMP is highly recommended.
