@@ianfann Mr. Ian, please don't be offended by the remark. I really like your reviews, but due to so many good, budget iems, it is difficult to choose the best model. My friend asked me yesterday: I want to buy some iem up to $ 40, what would you recommend? It turned out that there are so many well-rated models now that I don't know what I would choose. I listed him a few: 7hz zero, kz zvx, cca cxs, Kz d-fi, wan er, Kz linglong, simgot ew100p, kiwi cadenza, Truthear Hola, but which is the best one to choose? I don't know. I don't have the opportunity to test them all, and what I can only learn from the reviews is that they are ok. Hence my request to indicate the flaws. Maybe they will help in decisions or maybe it's just time to do some summary and arrange these models in order from best to best. Yes, I know that you can't do it without following your own preferences, but we also expect it, at least I do. Knowing your preference I will know what to expect. PR2's driver has N52 magnets. The ones used in PR1 were N55s which are %3~ stronger than N52 and it was too strong for 13.2mm planar and caused distortion. KZ has solved this problem with PR1 Pro using N52 magnets. Thats more ideal and helps with distortion & transparency. Good thing they used N52 magnets with PR2, this is good. Also i wonder if they did something new with venting. "Semi open exhaust design" they have used this exact expression on DQ6 product promotion but it only had 3 vent holes and the faceplate mesh was only cosmetic. PR1 Pro has cosmetic mesh too but they never said semi open back design or something, interesting.

My set finally arrived and after using them with a Btr3k out of the 2.5mm I found them quite peaky and harsh in the highs but still ok everywhere else unless it was a very busy and dynamic song where I found things can get congested and mushed up. I tried them on my desktop setup, which is a topping D10s running into a Topping A30 pro. I am using Amazon music unlimited for both. The desktop setup made all of the previously mentioned harshness and congestion go away, so I assume they just needed more power. I have them turned up to a similar level as my Sundara, which is crazy. Killer set but not great for portable use due to the power requirements. Im not sure how much more power the Btr5 and Btr7 offer over the 3k or if it would even be enough to round the set out properly regardless considering how much juice they could take from the A30 pro.

I personally used to buy really crappy sets before moving into the hobby and, while they had a low sensitivity of "93dB", I've had them work off my phone, so I really doubt the PR2's "94dB" is legitimate in giving an idea on its driveability. Regardless, Ian has replied to another comment with a similar point or query and had mentioned that it was running fine off a phone he tested it with(an iPhone 6s if I'm not wrong), so once again, I expect the PR2 to be driveable from a phone or dongle(or basically any low power source).

@@jorvten360 For me the best tunning of this year will be 1st Aful performer 8( I saw the graph at giz reviews( amazing graph like hd 600- 650 without its negatives 2)nd sa6 ultra - mk2 3) oracle MK1 I leave the icy hyperair tunned ones for the ice lovers !Iems are more tiring for the ears more than the over ear ones.Too much tremble apart from unnatural is also not a good thing

If you have not heard the previous versions of KZ PR1 - then all this information is zero. And these planars need to be burning up well - at least 80 hours.

The OG was experimental the PRO version is much refined now they took what they learned from that and collab with HBB for tuning
