In this exclusive interview in his New York City apartment, journalist and writer Antonio Monda speaks with Letizia Airos about his latest novel, "L'America non esiste," (America Doesn't Exist). The book tells the story of Maria and Nicola, two Italian siblings transplanted into America at a very young age, and embodying different aspects of the writer's personality. "The book is deeply personal and deeply autobiographical," Monda tells i-Italy. Set in the 1950s New York City, the book tells the years in which the city becomes the cultural capital of the world. A Professor of Cinema at NYU, Monda admits that his narrative style is very much inspired by his cinematographic background, and speculates about potential directors for an adaptation of the book into a movie.
