- Mercredi 22 mars après-midi : finale relais 800 yards nage libre.
- Jeudi 23 au matin : qualifications 200y 4N.
- Jeudi 23 après-midi : finale 200y 4N.
- Vendredi 24 au matin : qualifications 400y 4N.
- Vendredi 24 après-midi : finale 400y 4N + finale relais 400y medley (?)
- Samedi 25 au matin : qualifications 200y brasse (ou 200 papillon).
- Samedi 25 après-midi : finale 200y brasse.
With 4 days to go before the start of the NCAA finals in Minneapolis (next Wednesday, March 22), it is interesting (I would say quite fascinating - for a fan) to hear what Bob Bowman said a month ago on SwimSwam chanel about Leon Marchand, just after his first record in the 400y 4N: "He reminds me of Michael in 2003. His fitness level is so high that he can run very fast times despite a high training volume. He has a kind of functioning where he does everything. He worked the breaststroke well, the butterfly too... and it was especially good, I've never seen anyone do that in training, or even come close, and I've seen some of the best swimmers! At the NCAAs he was aiming for 3'33 but he felt good, got into a good rhythm and did 3'31. He told me after the race that he thought he was going slow...so I don't know what that means... I take it....
- It's pretty amazing, we'll take it. Will Michael Phelps' world record fall this year?
- Lao Tzu said, "Those who know do not predict and those who predict do not know". (sounds like an announcement for the world championships... wow...)
Leon's schedule next week at the NCAA finals in Minneapolis (unless something changes, I don't know how many individual races he's allowed to do - I think it's 3 races in all (individual +relays) (?) :
- Wednesday afternoon, March 22: 800-yard freestyle relay final.
- Thursday 23 in the morning: 200y 4N qualifications.
- Thursday 23 afternoon: 200y 4N final.
- Friday 24 in the morning: 400y 4N qualifications.
- Friday 24 afternoon: 400y 4N final + 400y medley relay final (?)
- Saturday morning 25: 200y breaststroke qualifications (or 200 butterfly).
- Saturday 25 afternoon: 200y breaststroke final.
To be continued: the videos of his races in Minneapolis.
