I don’t have words to express my happiness for finding this inspirational story and listening to it. It’s just my story told by Kalikidan. The only differences are I grew up in Deep Rural Area and I never tried to suicidal stuffs. I always had hope. And I am in better place now. All the way from deep down rural area of Gojjam - to- Addis Ababa University - to- USA📍. I will inspire many when I am back to Ethiopia. Just stay strong and be hopeful. 💪

What a brave and honest young lady. Thanks be to God for creating people like you in our community. Honest and genius people like you make a difference. A lot of people went through this, and it affects their life, but they don't even recognize it. In my opinion, education is the key to even realize what you realized. Some habesha people may think this is a joke or they may even think that you are a bad lady who is blaming your family. But, you are doing the right thing, but you are just trying to educate other people by being honest and telling your own story. By the way, you are super pretty!

Well, this so true in most of our earthly life and the real answer to this questions is JESUS him self. He really address the spot, cuz all this a need for attention, love and all other things are created for him in the first place. We all get our true worth in him! Not in our self or others approvals of what we are, really! So I'm telling you dears, please try to open up for who created you and also who loves you unconditionally. When you accept and gives him the right spot you'll definitely feel all the the love and blessings your soul is craving to get, and surely you will see things and also your self differently.

I have similar story and I remember once what a pastor stated, "It is because of us parents that our children have gone astray!". Our parents strive for us to become "successful" by pushing us toward the western culture, instead of the culture we were born into. I wish my parents had pushed me to focus on the bible and Ethiopian history/culture, because I would not have been fooled by false practices and ideologies. Kundalini practice, meditation, stoicism can be good practices for self-awareness; however, if not incorporated with who we truly are (Ethiopians and Christians) then the Sovereignty of GOD isn't visible, and we can get disconnected from our true origin/root. The issue with western culture is the concept of "I", too focused on Self-exaltation, the kingdom of GOD (Ethiopian-ism) is beyond the self, it consistently requires self-sacrifice for the greater good. This is eye opening; maybe we can learn to raise our children a little better.
