There was a piano composer around 1800ish named Franz Liszt who was really full of himself but amazing at piano. He wrote all of these insanely difficult pieces to flex on people and wrote them intentionally so that no one else could play them. Anyways, here’s a video of a 10 year old in a Cookie Monster sweater absolutely crushing it. What my brother wrote as he sent this to me lol
@stephenryder1995
3 жыл бұрын
Its true that Liszt was an accomplished egotist. He did indeed compose with the intention of demolishing competition. But remember, there were no recording devices in those days. In order to hear a piece of music you had to BE there. So anyone who could play your music could do it and reap the reward - and those audiences would not have to hire Liszt. So he fixed it so if you wanted to hear Liszt, you had to pay Liszt - because no one else could come close to playing that stuff - and a lot of pianos could not stand up to it either. That's one of the things that motivated Henry Steinway to start building pianos.

Let's support and nurture these young talents while ensuring they have a balanced and healthy childhood too.

Why isn't this boy prodigy getting more attention? Obviously his innate talent is highly uncommon. Half the time he appears almost as if he is telescoping the composer (like the composer possesses his hands, or something). The fact that Jonah has been doing this for so long and remains "undiscovered" is hard for me to understand. This is not simply "raw" talent...this is something on the scale of divine talent. One of the strongest talent is the passionate. When you have that passionate on something, you work without any pain but purely joy. And it will accelerate day by day. Many talented people are just like that. We might need some study about their brains to find out how do them work.

This made me really happy to see. This was my last show piece I played back in high school right before the pandemic hit, and kinda stopped my performances totally. I have pretty huge hands, so it was really cool to watch how he went about the parts that I abused my hand size to accomplish, such as the second rendition of the A section. Overall, 10/10, hope you keep pursuing piano in the future.

Very inspirational! I felt crushed when I learned a few weeks ago that my hands are very small and it's basically a handicap for piano. But if a 10 year old can plan La Campanella so well, what am I to complain about? Where there is a will there is a way, even though it will take a lot longer and will be a lot more painful.

Actually small hands are something of an advantage when playing this piece, as a person with big hands will find that their fingers hit the front part of the piano when playing the octaves.
