This was actually a 1965 "sales reel", produced by Henson for LaChoy (and corporate parent Beatrice Foods) executives, demonstrating how the "LaChoy Dragon" was going to sell their product during 1965-'66, with examples of several one minute color commercials at the end.

In 1961, Jim Henson retired his popular TV show, "Sam and Friends" which ran on WRC-TV from 1956-61, so he could take his Muppets onto a national stage.

I think the Claussen's Bread version of "Just Kidding" went something like this: Mack: "I love these Claussen's Bread commercials, don't you?" Kermit: "I'm tired of them." (Multiple gunshots) Kermit: "Just kidding, Mr. Claussen!"

Yeah I knew of the "lizard thing" part but it slipped my mind when I wrote that part. It just seemed silly that Rowlf was the star while Kermit felt more like a bit player from the montage...sure bigger than others since he made it to this point in the 60s but really didn't show off his later personality outside a couple sketches at this point.
