La Segunda Central Bakery in Florida has a longstanding promise to the people of Tampa: to continue baking the most authentic Cuban bread with the delicious taste, texture, and consistency that Cuban bread connoisseurs demand. We still use the authentic recipe we’ve used for nearly 100 years, and our dedicated customers who are serious about Cuban sandwiches wouldn’t have it any other way.
The original bakery La Primera, or "the first," opened in 1915. La Segunda, "the second" was built after the original building burned down in 1957. The bakery has always remained a family operation, now run by the Fourth generation of the Moré family.
