I was stationed there 1988-1990, strange to see it abandoned.

Different to when l was there 73-76 with the Buccaneers. A thriving community then with many social clubs, entertainment, hobbies, sports, etc. Lived initially in Weeze but eventually moved to a quarter on Teddar Crescent.

And now since 2017 it is not possible anymore to get to the back of the base. It`s closed by Ryainair and the only way to get to the runway and arrival/departurehall is that you have to pay for entering the base trough a roundabout with barriers.

FYI, we went there yesterday and it is still possible to go there, but you have to take a long walk through the forrest. But it is worth it!

Can always go down to Wemb and park up and have a short walk through the trees near the old ww2 bunker.

how did you manage to get on this part of the site? Wherever the solar systems etc. are, there are fences all around, aren't there? from where did you get to the hangar you show at the beginning?

In 2013 it was posibble to take the other entrance wich was located at the festival side. Since 2016 it is closed and only opens when there are races and other happenings.

@@pickuo580 So the only option would be to take a jump over the fences. Sadly that there is no more legal way to visit this area. Old military bases are so interesting.
