I will never buy another natural diamond again. I hope Debeers does not buy out all the labs and artificially jack up prices of lab diamonds.

Your a fool. Any jeweller can tell with fluoresce light and amateurs like me can even spot them with a loupe. Value will go down not up. Resale is destroyed. Might as well go fake cause thats really what it is.

Natural diamonds can have phosphorescence. I've seen it before. It's super rare in natural diamonds, but definitely possible.

Actually your guide here is pretty good. And I don't know about the whole 2% of rapaport. I do not see where he came up with that? But I will leave that alone. To me there are investment grade and non investment grade. Most good jewellers can tell the difference in just about a half hour. Earth mined still will hold their value and go up if you purchase usually a one carat or larger and the color as well as clarity make up a huge part of that. Cut is more a matter of taste but usually a round beilliant is always a good investment. There are also the fancy which as many already know come in a wide range of colors. Once again size , cut and clarity make up a huge part of that price. Someone asked about mine cut or even European. These can be found quite often in estate auctions. But most people notice less brilliance and of course thath ever so wonderous rabbit hole. Haha. See what I did there ? Rabbit , carrot i mean carat? Oh ok nevermind. Tough room. Anywho... many many years ago I purchases a pretty decent lot of earth mined diamonds. All are over a carat and about as near to colorless that I could find. Non are more than VVS in clarity. I have one which is just under 2 carats and when I say just I do mean that. It is 1.98 carats but it is a GIA cert IF and color is a F and it is a cushion cut. All the others are around about 1.25 to 1.73 carats and all near colorless and one is a VVS 1 two are VVS 2. Only one of those is GIA cert. When looking for diamonds you will see a rather sizable difference for diamonds that have a GIA report vs those which do not. The last diamond came from a well known mine in Australia that is now shut down. It is an actual earth mined blue with just an ever so light touch of green within. It also comes with a GIA report and was mined about 21 years ago. It is a 1.49 carat. Pretty hard to find a natural blue what makes this one worth a bit less is that slight green from within..it was valued at just a bit over $11,000 back then. No idea now. So those are investment grade. I do not think we have hit the area atm for lab diamonds being investment grade? Maybe if they are of decent size? I was just told by a GIA grad that for now stick with earth mined as they are still much higher and hold their prices well. I do not think I would purchase a mined diamond today as I did all those years ago. If I was going to do so then it would be maybe an older stone. But as far as I am concerned I have what I want atm. Well unless a nice red were to hit my desk. But I won't hold my breath while waiting for that to happen.

*This market and manufacturing are evolving fast. Now the LAB grow people are adding a tiny bit of nitrogen to the gases and its that much harder to tell lab from natural. In about 10 years they will be able to simulate fractures, imperfections and inclusions too.*

Lab diamonds are now being sold for 2 % of Rappaport. Your video is out of date.

I watched the title and 1st 10 secs. Lab diamonds even an amateur buyer like me can tell. Gotta be mined. Its not gonna change what is happening overseas and might make it worse.
