I first heard Madness cover and went and found my uncle 45. My uncle was a record plugger he always had a mint unplayed copy of everything he plugged. He passed away and now I own over 5000 pristine 45 and LPs. I not played this 45 it is still a virgin. Thanks for sharing.

That collection could be quite the pension pot, store them correctly, I know they may have some sentimental value, but having so many mint unplayed copies is a collector's dream.

Good morning Chris, sorry for the delay in replying. This original version is by far the best, the 1981 Madness cover was nothing more than Madness doing their "Madness" thing.

1,2,3,4! The 45 has air and space that all other formats lack . i had this 45 but I think my sis 'borrowed it' at some point

A timeless classic, never understood why the countdown intro is removed from most digital copies, come to think of it don't think I've heard it on any of my many compilation CDs and I have many. Recorded a few 7inch 1970s singles recently 2 Wings tracks, Alessi Brothers and Robin Sarstedt, I'll probably have to change the name of my channel to "Mostly The '70s & '80s 12inch collection", so I can use 7inch, CD's and cassettes. Anyway I'm glad you appreciate these old gems as much as I do, my dad worked in Music shops most of his working life and back in the 70s they (music shops) for the most also sold vinyl and cassettes, I always got any single I wanted even at the age of 10.....

I agree, it's absolutely uncanny how organic (and not just "analogue") it sounds...

Hello, It's surprising how people thought the Madness version was the original, Madness had Labi appear in their music video. Very different versions, for me, the original is by far the best....
