I wish we got to see more of Scamp's relationship with his mother. They never talk to each other. The only time they show a relationship is when she tries to go talk to him and realizes he ran away, worries he's drowning and relieved it was just a wig, and rubs him when he returns home. It shows she does love her boy very much, but I wanted to see them have like an actual conversation.

I think they should have had Scamp argue with both of his parents here. Lady and Tramp doesn't want Scamp running off and it leads to a falling out. It would give a more powerful agenda because didn't Scamp think about how his mother would have felt? Usually, boys are closer with their mothers. They both could have chased after Scamp in the park and we can see Lady also interacting with Buster. And at the end, Lady could have went to the dog pound to help save Scamp, and help take him back home.

Still that's how the sequel originated and without Lady meeting Tramp there would be no sequel because essentially Scamp wouldn't exist and none of the plot line would have happened, leading up to this sequel. Even having her a few more lines and a flashback to the first Lady and the Tramp would have bridged a better transition between the first Lady and the Tramp and this one. Easy reason reason why tramp lied about being stray: realizing how much Scamp is just like him, he did not wish to put the idea Into his head that that life was so much better just because he would think being stray meant there was no rules and could do as he pleased without consequence. I think Scamp would've attempted to leave at a much younger age. But Tramp didn't want his pup to learn worse behaviors. Realistically though, behind Tramp's anger is fear of getting in trouble himself or more likely, Scamp from the owners themselves.

@user-gq7if1us4i Tramp said, "Firm discipline molds a pup into a dog", well, guess where that "firm discipline" got poor Scamp into. Now after he ran away from home because of how harsh Jim Dear and Tramp were towards him and how terribly mean Annette, Collette, and Danielle were to him too, you could hear how stressed Jim sounded in the house, probably because he was still blaming himself, wishing he never would've chained him up outside, and at the river, Tramp felt bad about how he treated Scamp too, he said that he shouldn't have been so hard on him, and I was like, "Dang right, you shouldn't!". Tramp felt even worse when he found out Scamp learned the truth about his father's past life as a street dog he kept from him, now Scamp was mad at him--feeling betrayed and hurt by the dog he thought he could trust and look up to, I could understand his pain and what bullcrap he went through with his family, and now didn't want to go home with his father after he had lied to him all this time. Now Tramp really blamed himself for being such a terrible father towards his son, and I gotta admit he pretty much was.. I'm just glad he apologized to Scamp in the end, promising to be a better role model of a father to him next time. It's not just Scamp who learnt a lesson, parents learn from their mistakes too. Just look what happened to Simba and Ariel in their dumb sequels too.

This scene does kinda go both ways as to whom is in the right or not, as while one the one hand Scamp was somewhat being a brat about his home life and kind of pushing his luck by arguing back at his old man. He still honestly felt like he didn't truly belong and though Tramp did come down on him here (um yeah...a little too much) he was not entirely in the right either for keeping his past from the first film hidden away, so maybe if he had opened up a little more to Scamp and been more straight with him they would not have such a conflict with each other. Then this scene with said conversation wouldn't have devolved into the arguing between the two we see here. That was my interpretation of this scene when i was younger, though granted i haven't seen this movie in many years.

@justinmiddleton8818
5 ай бұрын
@reynardrodriguez That's why this scene grates on me, because yeah while Scamp was being kinda bratty and all it's not as though Tramp was in the right or innocent either. Because it's not as though concealing his previous life as a street dog was exactly a good thing in terms of their relationship. It was more or less basically straight up recycling the stock "parent conceals thing about them from their child and they have a conflict on both sides" thing from The Little Mermaid 2: Return to the Sea, which ironically enough came out direct to video just a few months earlier. Why is that, you ask? Because that's effectively the exact same thing Ariel and Eric (but mostly Ariel) did by concealing her own past as a mermaid from Melody after Morgana aka "Ursula's crazy sister whom we've never heard of before" showed up, along with basically distancing from her father and sisters in not being able to see them and thus preventing their own child from seeing her grandfather and aunts likewise and knowing of her undersea roots by extension. Melody thus resorted to more or less the same thing that her mom had as a teenager (going to the sea witch, though their respective desires and reasons were switched around) in order to do so. Now, granted while i can see the one side of it given what they had experienced with Ursula back then in the first film and the trauma that resulted it's that aspect i take issue with. That basically sums up Scamp's issue here in Lady and the Tramp 2 in a nutshell.
@reynarodriguez9742

Now it's hit me just how lazy and formulaic many of those "cheapquels" really were. The Little Mermaid 2 and Lady and the Tramp 2 in particular. It's like almost the exact same damn stock "parent and child butt heads" plot only here switch out mother with father (Ariel/Tramp) and daughter with son (Melody/Scamp) and their struggles therein on both sides there's no missing just now similar they are. It's about as lazy and interchangeable as possible, and as i said above that only drags them down story wise all the more. Um, yeah. Now it's even more obvious to me how cheap and recycled these two DTV's are even apart from most of the others.

I could imagine Lady getting even more angry at Tramp when she realized Scamp didn't want to go home just because his own father lied to him all this time and kept his past street life a secret from him. Lady and the tramp 2 scamps adventure teaches us a lesson in Forgiveness. This movie is also similar to the Bible story of the Prodigal Son. When Scamp ran away from home to become a street dog like his father tramp, he thought it would make him happier. But being away didn’t make him happier. And after what he did like joining the other junkyard dogs into wreaking havoc in the park on the fourth of july. He was afraid his family wouldn’t love him anymore. The story of the Prodigal Son tells us about how much God loves everyone. Jesus told that story to teach us something about God. Tramp in the story was like God, and scamp was like the prodigal son and everyone else for that matter. What Jesus was telling us in his little story about a father and a son is that god’s love has no limits. It goes on forever, no matter what you’ve done, no matter how far you’ve run away, you can always come back to God. When he sees you coming , he will pick you up and he’ll just keep hugging you. “ How great is the love the father has lavished on us that we should be called children of God !” 1 John 3:1

Yeah, at least Tramp admitted he was a bad father to Scamp and the reason why he ran away was because of him, he was too harsh on him. And when Scamp refused to go home with him, I bet Tramp realized it was still his fault too because he should've told Scamp the truth about his life on the streets instead of keeping it a secret from him. Now Scamp was angry at him still because of how hurt and betrayed he felt by him and never wanted to see him again, until Tramp saved him from the pound and both father and son apologized to each other.

Instead of just standing there like any cowardly mother, Lady should've just stepped in between Tramp and Scamp and yell at Tramp for offending their son with those harsh use of words as her motherly way of defending Scamp or she should've just talked with Scamp, comforting him that his father didn't mean to say he was going to leave him outside every night, and that she was going to talk with him or more likely still confront him because she hated the way Tramp yelled at Scamp like that instead of hearing out how angry Scamp was because of the harsh-ness between his own father and owner Jim, and understand how they both made Scamp feel

Well, his dad is hard on him, his sisters talk badly about him and likely bully him, and we don't know much about his relationship with his mother. Plus, his family keeping him in the fences where he has no friends doesn't help. His sisters aren't good company and the baby isn't much company because the baby can't understand Scamp and can't communicate with him. Before Angel, he didn't have a single friend he could talk to. So with having no friends, a father that's too hard on him (along with lied to him about his past), and sisters that act like snobs, just top it all off with the fact that he's also a kid. He's probably like 14-years-old in human years and is going through some angst. So I understand where he's coming from. Does that make his actions right? No, but he learns in the end. Besides, there's nothing wrong with wanting more out of life.

In every sequel Disney does which has this plot (there was even a Balto sequel which I once saw with my cousin's son years ago, PS: I know that wasn't Disney) they have the main parent lies about their past to his/her rebellious child and then the kid finds out and gets hurt/angry, runs away and then that parent has to save them. *Formula, formula, formula.* I wish that the writers would have put in more imagination but then again, the sequels are really done to make money. And turns into a COSTLY mistake,that you will REGRET ever pulling,period.

@MylaTheRaccoon Well, I don't know how to put this but, when I first saw the trailer for this in the VHS I had of 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘓𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦 𝘔𝘦𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘪𝘥 𝘐𝘐: 𝘙𝘦𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘦𝘢, another Disney sequel I didn't like at all but at least in my opinion, it was better than this one, I thought of watching it since I love 𝘓𝘢𝘥𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘮𝘱, and I still do, but when I first watched it when I got the VHS, I thought it was gonna be good when it turned out to be absolutely terrible! Why? Well, here is my list of reasonings: - The songs in the movie were horrible especially ‘Always There’ because I believed that Disney ripped that off of the song with the same name and meaning from 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘓𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘣𝘦𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘛𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘝: 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘔𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘶𝘴 𝘐𝘴𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘥, which I recall was the first TLBT movie I saw ever since I was a kid, and I loved it’s version of ‘Always There’ better than this sequel’s version - I hated Scamp’s, Angel’s, and Tramp’s voices in this sequel…Scamp and Angel are puppies and I was expecting them to be voiced by kids-it would’ve been better if actors like Brandon LaCroix (speaking) and Thomas Dekker (singing ‘A World without Fences’) could’ve voiced Scamp and Anndi McAfee could’ve voiced Angel, I hate their original voices. And Larry Roberts, and even Justin Theroux, voiced Tramp waaaaaaaaay better than Jeff Bennett - Poor Lady, her daughters, Jock, and Trusty barely had any roles in this film..and Lady is one of my favorite Disney characters ever. At least I loved how Jodi Benson voiced her unlike Barbara Luddy who voiced her in the first movie, that Lady voice bothered me ever since.. - Tramp and Jim Dear were too harsh on poor Scamp. It wasn’t all his fault he wrecked up the house, it was the baby’s fault! How are those people and dogs too blind to see that they were just playing?! - I believed Scamp ran away from home because as I said, his family was too harsh, and their harshness angered and triggered him real bad so he needed fresh air and a brisk walk to cool himself down until he was ready enough to go back home. - How the heck did the creators make a 50-year-old (Buster) fall in love with a teenage girl (Angel)?! That is unacceptable! So, I still think on the contrary, maybe Buster’s relationship with Angel is like a father’s relationship with his daughter, which apparently wasn’t a good one. - Tramp kept his street dog days a secret from his own kids, and Scamp was torn and upset from what he had heard from Buster and the other junkyard dogs. Parents, you should NEVER hide secrets from your kids otherwise, they might not trust you anymore. Just look at this I have found online: psychcentral.com/blog/5-reasons-why-keeping-family-secrets-could-be-harmful#2 - There’s too much yelling in this film, especially during Tramp and Scamp’s argument at home and in that alley scene where poor Scamp was having a mental breakdown because he was being like a rope and Tramp and Buster were tugging on each end of the rope like a tug-o-war to see who will win Scamp first. I thought Scamp wanted to stay away from his father for a while until Tramp apologizes for being too hard on him, and keeping his street life before he met Lady a secret from him for years. - I love Angel, except when she yelled at Scamp after he left Tramp for Buster, who does she think she is? Scamp’s mother? She should’ve minded her own business especially because she doesn’t even know him! And that scene reminded me too much of how a very pissed and whiny Lady yelled at poor Tramp in the original film, I hated that scene so much, and I still do - I love how they’ve redone the spaghetti scene but all of that changed when Scamp and Angel began to eat like little beasts, and that’s when I thought….”Yeeeeeeah, I’d take it back. Tramp and Lady’s spaghetti dinner date was better..” - The dogcatcher in this sequel was CRAZY! Especially the way he captured Scamp And finally.. - Poor Scamp had to take a bath at the end of this film…I’ve always felt bad for him. So, yeah, those are my opinions of why I hated 𝘓𝘢𝘥𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘮𝘱 𝘐𝘐: 𝘚𝘤𝘢𝘮𝘱’𝘴 𝘈𝘥𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 for SOOOOOOOOOOOOO long, please don’t hate me for that but that’s just my opinion on the movie honestly, and today, I’m still fighting to forget about that movie forever but it isn’t easy, you know? It’s so hard to forget a movie, especially a Disney one!

Ariel did the same thing to Melody, and because of both Tramp's and Ariel's harsh personalities as parents towards their kids, Melody and Scamp both ran away from home only to discover the truths their parents kept from them that really broke them down, and they felt betrayed by them, thinking they could trust them. Parents should know better than keeping bad secrets of their past from their family, it REALLY takes a toll of their relationship, and their kids may never trust or love them the same way ever again like how Melody and Scamp felt towards Ariel and Tramp at first

I really can understand why scamp is so resentful towards his father I would have felt the same if I was in scamps shoes now I know that tramp was a street dog and given the circumstances he did not know better then to pull that stunt with his son by yelling and giving a heavy tell off to scamp but it still does NOT excuse the fact that it was still a selfish and DICK move period

Oh yeah, I also mailed a tv show idea to Disney about Scamp (he used to appear in Disney comics as a spin-off series and it was famous) plus I also arranged the return of his brother Scooter and other characters from the comics (and it’s a good idea because disney has never made a tv series based on lady and the tramp and usually they secondary characters as the heroes, Timon and Pumba)

@Chicken_JAC I hated this sequel as a kid and still do, Scamp is a pup so he should've been voiced by an actual kid and not an adult, maybe around 6 or 9, so I'd choose the original and even the remake over this piece of crap any day....sorry if I sound mean here but you have no idea what this movie did to mess me up, and how boring and stupid I thought it was when I first watched it as a kid, now I wish I never watched it.... but if you ask me, between the 1955 original and the 2019 remake, I choose the remake because it fixed a few things I even hate about the original film

@Chicken_JAC Well, I hate the songs in this movie, especially 'Always There' because I believe Disney ripped that off from the song of the same name from 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘓𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘣𝘦𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘛𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘝: 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘔𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘶𝘴 𝘐𝘴𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘥, the first ever TLBT movie I watched as a kid, and I believed that version of 'Always There' is better than stupid 𝘚𝘤𝘢𝘮𝘱'𝘴 𝘈𝘥𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦's (sorry, but you have no idea how much I hated this movie and how badly it messed me up, traumatized me as an adult still, and ruined part of my childhood and love for 𝘓𝘢𝘥𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘮𝘱 as my 2nd favorite Disney movie), and I also agree with you that Lady shouldn't be a supporting character, she should've have more major roles like she had in her first film. But at least for one, I think the animation in this film was excellent, just as nice as the original animation. Take a look at the animations used in 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘓𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦 𝘔𝘦𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘪𝘥 𝘐𝘐: 𝘙𝘦𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘦𝘢, 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘏𝘶𝘯𝘤𝘩𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘬 𝘰𝘧 𝘕𝘰𝘵𝘳𝘦 𝘋𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘐𝘐, 𝘈𝘭𝘢𝘥𝘥𝘪𝘯 𝘐𝘐: 𝘙𝘦𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘑𝘢𝘧𝘢𝘳, and 𝘈𝘭𝘢𝘥𝘥𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘒𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘧 𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘴--terrible, just terrible!!

@Chicken_JAC I respect your opinion, but I still believe 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘓𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘣𝘦𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘛𝘪𝘮𝘦's version of 'Always There' is WAY better. It has a better meaning about families always being there for you, and I grew up listening to that before I watched 𝘓𝘢𝘥𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘮𝘱 2, which was my biggest mistake as a kid, and 'Always There' to me was a complete rip-off Plus, Buster is probably the worst villain in cartoon history

Here’s MY opinion scamp had every right to run away from NOT his family so much but his FATHER because remember the whole reason that scamp ran away is partly rules but if anything else it’s due to the fact that tramp inadvertently caused this to happen by being a shady and selfish DICK

Yeah, Tramp was being a selfish jerk to Scamp, instead of understanding his son's pain and even how harsh and mean Jim Dear was to him, he just decided to be like him and yell out mean things to him that probably hurt Scamp's feelings REAL bad. @@justincook5202 Yeah, I would've imagined how the triplets' reactions would be if they also found out the truth their father kept from all four of his pups, not just Scamp, that he was a street dog before he met their mother. Wesley's version of 'Scamp's Adventure' is definitely better than the original crappy sequel because no one was being mean or harsh with Scamp when he just wanted to play with Junior, Tramp didn't kept his street life in the past a secret from him, Annette, Collette, and Danielle weren't being real snobs to their brother, Angel didn't nag or tell Scamp what to do when she found out that he has a family who loves him very much, and best of all, all the classic characters, like my favorite Lady with her role as the pups' mother, not just to Scamp, have major roles
