Whenever I listen to this song, I think about what happened to lead the LGBT community to this point. From the earliest homophile groups, to the Mattachine Society and Daughters of Billitis, to the famous Stonewall Riots, we've fought a long hard way for this song to be taken seriously and to change the hearts and minds of more than half the country We still have much much more to fight for, but this song gives me hope that it can be done We love you, Gaga 💜

Don't be afraid of who you are, and if people reject you, then they are just not meant for you. This song has basically become the lgbt+ anthem, but I just love how it speaks to EVERYONE. I'm not part of the community, so for some time I felt like I had no connection to the song. However, when she sang the song live in her concert, I cried like a little baby. I was bullied feom early childhood up to adulthood, and it felt like she sang the song specifically for me. I'm sure everyone else there felt the same way. Truly a magical moment. She's a queen.

I love the ‘don’t hide yourself in regret, just Love yourself and you’re set’ part, cus I relate so much, I hide myself which is not good but I’m not brave to come out.

Even as a straight Filipino dude, I can relate to this song. Glad to see a fellow product of the parochial school system made it and produces great riffs. BTW, I think Joey Ramone- is smiling down on you Lady G 🤙🏼

I was heavily bullied by others in my school for being bisexual and I had an idea. I was inspired by some wise sayings that a video game taught me when saying this to the whole school in the end of the year (about the struggle between the LGBTQ community and other people): "what makes the difference between a story and a legend? Is it the cruelty of it’s vilains? Or the bravery of the heroes? Is it companionship; friendships forged against overwhelming odds? Or the story of a struggle, that changes the flow of time? After the details have faded into dreams, what will we remember? Ultimately it’s the tales that capture our hearts, and give us reason to hope. When the bravery of the world is greater than the forces of evil combined.. that is when legends are born." Somehow that text alone gave me hope in my darkest times. Those quotes and this song combined are the best. Thank you Lady Gaga

This is definitely one of my top 5 favorite songs. It always reminds me that I shouldn't hide who I am. I'm gay and damn proud of it, and if anyone has a problem with that, I'm going to keep my fire burning bright and burn that hate to ashes!

I need this song right now. I'm a trans woman who battles severe dysphoria and right now I am very dysphoric. Against my better judgement I looked up what Dave Chappelle said about my community it was extremely triggering and I feel like I'm broken and maybe there is something unnatural and wrong with me. Thank you lady Gaga your music has saved and continues to save my life 🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈👍👍👍💖💖💖💖
