Usually I can't stand a jazz guitar trio. Something is always missing. Except, when either Rosenwinkel or Lage hold the guitar on stage.

Not my cup of tea and I can't explain why. It doesn't move me that much. Some of his songs are great in my ears but I'd go for Lage, Kurt, or Bernstein first. What are you favorite guitar trios? Oh, I forgot to add Peter Bernstein by the way. Love his style.

Everyone likes different things. Just because you don't connect with it doesn't mean their isn't a story. Different strokes for different folks. Lage's music connects with me on an emotional level. His newest album is one of my favorite albums of the last 10 years. I love old school jazz guitarist too (Charlie C, Wes, J-Hall, Ed Bickert, G-Green). It doesn't have to be one or the other.
@pauleisermann1075

You can literally follow the chord voicings over 16 bars or more during these tunes and already get an entire story.
