I love seeing Nigerian elites. However, I'm a little baffled by their perception of luxury. Why is luxury analogous with all things European? What is African luxury? I feel as though they're merely boasting about having access to white owned expensive items. Luxury needs to be redefined to exist outside the realm of white elitism.

Throughout the video, I compared the African elites to Oprah Winfrey. She is a billionaire and would never waste money on clothes and shoes with diamonds. In fact, she invested in a school for impoverished African girls. None of the elites of Nigeria talked about how they've helped anyone except themselves to get richer.
@owenbeharry8478

These people have the right to spend money how they want to. Oprah does spend her money of luxury good and real estate, she actually had a show auctioning off luxury clothing she no longer use, it was for her charity. Also, this documentary could be one sided, we don't know if they donate their time and money to charity. A few for the Nigerian elites have actually pledge to give money to developing the country and social causes.

Majority of the rich westerners have more than 90% of their money inside of their countries and they would never waste this amount of money, with no return, in NIGERIA. Tell me one western billionaire that you know and has millions in properties all over Nigeria???? Nigeria has the biggest economy in Africa due to his large population. Why don't you say that it also has one of the biggest wealth gapes in Africa? Nigeria's pib per capita is one of the lowest in the world.

The diamond industry is in a cartel - there are like 2 diamonds companies in the world (real mined diamonds not cubic zirconia). They mine in South Africa, Brazil etc... and sell the best gems in Europe/Asia/US. You will probably not find them in Africa, the market is not there. Africans don’t do engagement rings or diamonds gifts, it’s more about gold here.

Taking the money and running while your own countrymen suffer is what irresponsible people do. They spend a lot in Nigeria (Africa) They buy/spend worldwide. Her personal Shopper is Nigerian! They heavily support their own country. Difference with African, but they will spend their money everywhere. You are only seeing this show which is shown for the Western World. You don't see what they spend in Africa, they have the same types of shows on TV there. Don't forget before Europeans destroyed Africa and it's Culture, Africa was the richest continent! This is nothing in comparison to what the Kings of the past spent and adorned themselves in Jewels, before there was a Europe, etc, The Romans were the first to want what they had as well as what the Jews had in riches. People need to do their research! They are only used to the Media painting Blacks in one form! They like to make them look lesser than Europeans, etc!

Where is the proof they stole money? The young guy born in England started a ringtone business before going into diamond 💎, the other lady who came from Nigeria to see her persona shopper is a tv personality, DJ Cuppy dad is a billionaire with oil company all over Nigeria 🇳🇬 so tell me how can they be corrupt when all of them have their personal business and non of them are politicians. If they are politicians I will agree with your comment but they are all personal businessmen and women. You all love to hate on Africans mostly Nigerians for no reason. If they show poor Africans you all will say Africans are poor and dirty, they showed u the rich ones you still complain. What will they do for you all not to complain or hate on them.

I have nothing against people attaining wealth. It's a beautiful thing to reach financial freedom. But I can't understand how Nigerians give out their wealth in the home of their forefather's masters, while their people die on the open seas trying to reach Europe, where they are not wanted or either sold into slavery, before they even see anything that looks like a boat. I don't believe that they should simply give away their money. This really helps no one, but they can invest in ways to allow those who feel that fleeing their country is the only answer to a better life, build a better life at home, without having to risk their lives. We really seem to have some of sort of sickness that doesn't allow us to see the value in our brothers and sisters, as if we can't seem to grasp, that helping another achieve financial stability strengthens us all. This is how other formally oppressed people are rising to greater power, while the majority of our people remain among the poorest. Africa, with all of it's riches in resources, shouldn't by no means have some of the poorest countries in the world! Makes no sense!

I hope that the people that worked hard and made it remember their roots and make opportunities for the less fortunate, buying expensive things is great, but helping others come up in the world is so much greater. Bless you all, may you have healthy, and fulfilling lives, if ever you feel down, do something to help another and let your sadness go away, the secret to living is giving..and love is everything, make a commitment to yourself to to be happy always, life is a roller coaster it is like this no matter what, it's how you decide to think about the down times that makes the difference. Don't allow suffering to stay with you for no more than 90 seconds. Snap out of it and handle whatever it is with a smile. Bless us, everyone

Why do people expect people to give to them just because they're from their country? That's their money. Not yours they don't have to boost your economy, that's not their responsibility. Like what would you do with all that money? Probably the same thing or even more.

There is nothing wrong with being rich. It is how you got rich that matters. Also what you do with your riches. That matters too. Did you get rich because you stole. took bribes and were corrupt? Or because of your own skill and hard work? Did you just inherit your wealth? Or did you make it yourself. Are you using your wealth to improve the lives of the poor and under privileged or are you spending it on flashy self-glorification? All of these factors say who you really are. It doesn't matter whether you are white, African or Chinese.

Where is the charity, community, school or recreational project for the Nigerian children and poor families. Father touch their hearts to found and structure needed resources for their communities. These girls are obviously happy and apparently the result of hard working parents. Women traditionally do like fashion so its no surprise that the wealthy are often 'branded' to become viracious consumers. But let's be clear that they are not purchasing art ,antiques , or even realestate...beyond their present abodes. I couldn't even finish this foolish video. They SHOULD be embarrassed. To have a conversation with these two is guaranteed to be BORING AS HELL unless you were equally branded to be a FOOL that purchase items that lose their significance and value as soon as they leave the shops. Trying to have a serious conversation must be really difficult. The wealthy arabs,chinese,and now africans are being gutted once more by English values and goods. The outrageous prices for all this is ridiculous.

You young ladies are enjoying your lives & finding your place & purpose. You two lAdies & the twin brothers are so attractive and well spoken. I'm sure people & families as nice & smart as you are still living in Africa & contribute greatly to the people there. I don't expect you to fix Africa. We can't fix the countries we all come from. We can contribute & vote & pray always. The commits on you aren't spending only on products they researched all the origins either.jealousy & false judgement is foolish & out of line. We are not perfect, you don't need to be either. Enjoy your life as you grow, as young adults. You are beautiful regardless of your hair pieces or style of clothes. Both your parents having companies is such a blessing. The people you all & your families bless are happy. New investments are there now. Thank God for the band U2 & the James Robinson & Marilyn hickey & West Angelis church bring there too.

Jealous, jealousy ,jealousy!!!!!! people!!!. so they shouldn't spend b'se so many Africans are poor give mea break!!!!!. Poor people!!.charity!!. many Africans are poor b'se they think some one will show up and give them some thing a bag of cash .hmm There are resources in every African country and every one can be rich if they wish to . Am not rich at all am setting my self towards that. The day I stopped blaming corruption, incompitant 'leaders' expectations of charity and gov't. I started to toil my self and am still doing that .Don't mind these poor people who have been preached to that the world is evil and they should only purify them selves . For heaven hence ending up doing nothing. Damn haters.
